Just wanted to flag something about the current use of patterns in-game. One recently approved pattern includes promotional material for a content creator, and it’s being used pretty much like an ad over captured territory.
Normally that might not be a big deal, but in this case, the creator is openly encouraging behavior that goes against fair play - like calling out and pressuring other clan members in FFA matches for not giving them preferential treatment to allow him to win the game. It’s turning into a weird dynamic where some players are being shamed or excluded for just playing normally.
Since patterns need to be approved, I think it would be worth tightening the guidelines a bit. Specifically:
- Avoid approving patterns with usernames, creator handles, or other identifying info.
- Keep patterns focused on in-game themes rather than personal branding.
- Consider whether the person being promoted is encouraging healthy gameplay which promotes player retention for the game.
I know the system is meant to be fun and creative, but I am getting concerned that this will turn into a bad precedent if patterns start to get used for advertising for people who openly advocate against playing the game as intended.
