To make land combat more realistic and strategically engaging, I propose introducing a maximum troop limit per border pixel — for example, 10,000 units per pixel. This rule would prevent oversized, unrealistic assaults on narrow fronts and encourage more thoughtful maneuvers, especially in geographically constrained areas such as mountain passes, isthmuses, or peninsulas.

Objectives

Emphasize chokepoints and narrow frontlines.

Reward logistics, planning, and allied coordination.

Encourage tactical variety, including naval operations.

Troop Density Modulation

The maximum number of troops per pixel could be influenced by nearby infrastructure:

Defense posts (bunkers, fortifications, etc.): reduce the enemy’s allowed troop density on the covered pixels, strengthening defensive value.

Forward outposts (new building): increase the troop deployment limit for the player who builds it, and also for nearby allies.

Allied forces should benefit fully from each other's defensive structures, making shared frontlines more effective and promoting mutual defense strategies.

Shared Territory Between Allies

To enable deeper collaboration, players should have the option to temporarily share a portion of territory with an ally. This shared zone would allow:

Joint deployment of forces on a common front.

Collaborative construction and defense of strategic structures (e.g., missile or space launch stations).

Coordinated offensive and defensive operations.

This feature would add depth to alliance gameplay and encourage meaningful cooperation.

Naval Assault Improvements

When land access is limited, naval invasions should become a more viable strategic option. To support this, assault boats should be upgradeable through a port interface, specifically:

The number of assault boats available (not their troop capacity) should be scalable via upgrades.

Movement speed could also be improved through research or port development.

That would be very nice, however it would also be hard to make.
