I don't think there's any benefit to the current ambiguity of whether a player is still in the game or not. I think once someone leaves the game their territory should turn a gray color to notify everyone that they're no longer playing.

It would also allow you to pinpoint the exact moment someone rage quit whichb would be entertaining.
