Vannilacold told me to rename appdata spore folder but it ended in a dissaster

So i did that because a issue is where rogues wont spawn in my games so i renamed the spore folder in appdata to Spore - 04-08-2025 AND that caused me to go from 525 creatures TO only 355 all over again and plus ALL MY SAVE GAMES ARE GONE PLEASE HELP ME @opaque loom

1: it's super rude to just call someone out like this and it's not a great way to go about getting help - explaining the situation calmer and what steps you took and what it led to would be much more beneficial

So basically the spore folder is all of your saves and whatnot. When you launch the game, that's the folder it references for all of that stuff, it looks for a folder labeled Spore. Since there is no folder labeled Spore when you rename it, it (I think) makes its own new one. All of your stuff is still there, but it's not where the game is looking

All this is to say if you go into appdata again, there's probably a new Spore folder in addition to the one you renamed. If you rename the new one to something different and the old one back to the default name, it should all be back in the game

Think of it like this: The game can only get things from a box labeled Spore. Renaming the folder is like slapping a new label onto that box. Since the game can only get things from the box labeled Spore, it cannot open the box anymore because of the new label. However, all the things that were in the box are still in the box

What the person above said, your save data is still available, just rename the folders.

also like, I have to imagine it's really hard to diagnose issues like "rogues don't spawn" since modders don't know every meticulous detail about the game. Idk why people ask for things like this to be fixed all the time, like best bet one of your mods is doing it, try to experiment a bit?

Whenever I suspect savedata to be the issue, I always say to rename the Spore folder in %appdata%/ so that it can be easily restored.
And, as Celebrity Denver said, you can easily restore it. Just move or rename the newly generated Spore folder, and then rename Spore - 04-08-2025 back to Spore.

I still personally think it's more likely that you just haven't found any rogues, not that they don't spawn. They aren't particularly that common, and any mods you have which affect them could make them even rarer (since I know you said you at some point had a mod that adds epic rogues as well, and like... that sounds pointess since epics already exist, and could also cause rogues to disappear if the mod was made poorly or is incompatible with something else. And, those kinds of mods can only be guaranteed to have their effects vanish if you actually clear your savedata, which is why I suggested that.)
