Doesnt happen often but.....when it does I the chat window only shows the line 'chat open' and nothing else, anything i type is not seen by my teammates or myself. and I cant see anything my teammates type either.

p.s. also may want to uninstall the game and install it into a different folder (or go manually completely erase what was in the hw3 folder after uninstall)

Something happening to you or your teammates is preventing the chat session from starting, or causing you or them to be unable to join it.
When it happens to you and you can't see what your teammates type, can they see what the other is typing?
Ie.
You are player A in a match with players B and C and the issue is occuring
You (player A) can't see what players B or C are typing
But can player B see what player C is typing and vice versa? Or is the chat fully empty for all 3 players?
Any of you on a specific firewall or network settings that might cause this to happen? It is, in theory, possible to connect to a match but not its chat session... It's very weird but not impossible.
