Outside the tutorial the dozer is very weak. After clearing just a few patches of regolith it takes damage. Even after repair it only seems to be able to clear a few squares before needing maintenance. I feel that the dozer needs a bit of buff to overcome this.

how did you repair it? I couldn't fix my dozer at all and ended up ordering another one!

All broken down Rovers are repaired in the vehicle bay.
You need active personnel and “spare parts”
If a rover is too damaged to move on its own you need a recovery rover to drag the damaged rover to the vehicle bay.
