Hello everyone!
I think now is the perfect time to write a guide on Maru, as she’s an excellent alternative to the new** 5★ Ikora.**

Let’s get started!

Weapons
The only truly viable weapon setup for Maru is Dvergar Drill and Tsurinobuse.
Dvergar Drill
An excellent single-shot Exotic for Maru. Upon hitting an enemy or a surface, it splits into multiple separate projectiles, which further scales with her Weapon Mastery.
It deals great damage and is very effective at breaking Spread Shinka.

Tsurinobuse
Currently the best grenade launcher in the game.
Auto-Loading Holster automatically reloads the weapon while it is stowed.
And Polyploidy turns this gun into a true boss and elite destroyer.

Artifacts
Maru has a broken interaction: her shield is somehow classified as a Summon, which allows us to use Rampaging Pact.
When it comes to artifact choices, there honestly isn’t much flexibility for Maru.

Defensive Artifacts
Undaunted Blazar
(Shield, Overshield, Defense, Barrier/Ranged)
— Grants 25% damage resistance when gaining Overshield.

Siphoning Blazar
(Shield, Overshield, Defense, Barrier/Ranged)
— Increases the amount of Overshield gained from AoE damage if you already have Overshield active.

Offensive Artifacts
Rampaging Pact
(Weapon, Ability, Void, Signature)
— +33% damage after casting your shield (effectively permanent).

Bellicose Blazar
(Weapon, Ability, Void, Signature)
— +25% AoE damage, and AoE damage also increases movement speed.

Alternative:
Explosive Shell
(Weapon, Ability, Void, Signature)
— +48% Blast damage and +48% Blast radius on direct hits.
