how many gwen dupes do have?
most players are using the planetesimal set for gwynn. But top players are making exceptions like for example fourth slot artifact could be rampaging planetesimal or valiant veil depending on content/playstye.
honestly feel like planetesimal is overrated, binging planetasimal doesn’t even heal for the intended amount right now,
gwynn is an overshield machine and most of the overshield artifacts actually give higher damage bonuses than planet artifs
especially if you are able to get t6 gwynn, constant spins just mean perma overshield
yea, i’m working on getting ring of abundance and ring of conversion just to see if they are an improvement. But up until now planetesimal did get me to where i am no difficulty so it wouldn’t be a bad starting point for new gwynns.

If you want an in depth answer, Concerto + Mythic will most likely be better, even with the Raid Shotgun upgraded to Tier 3 and being able to shoot twice. This is just from what I know now, could be changed later.
- Mythic Shotgun (Eternal Retribution), with Line Formation + Exotic Mod (With 30% Extra Mag Size)
➥ Means the magazine size will be extended to 10, and with Line Formation’s exotic perk, every third shot will load a bullet into the magazine, making it have 13 shots in total before having to reload.
➥ Pair that with concerto reload, you will have 26 shots of shotgun without having to reload, which is INSANE dps stacking with Gwynn’s signature spin. That is in theory, 4-5 spins worth of resets.

- The exotic shotgun is nice as you are able to dump two complete magazines quickly, and spin quickly but overall will do less dps overtime.
➥ This is probably going to be useful for speedrunning, or modes like Calamity ops, where you want to quickly kill Spread Shinkas etc, but probably won’t do as much DPS for a boss damage cycle etc.
both will work for her, but the healing from binging planet is kinda underwhelming, that's why i dont run it
honestly it doesn't really matter for gwynn, both planet and overshield works, she can proc both consistently, but the important thing is finding good artifact rolls on the ones you choose

to add to this, i’ve really been liking valiant veil on her ^
but tbh when it comes picking artifacts, it’s best to try out the different combos to find one you like the best and fits your playstyle. that’s what makes builds unique and allows characters to be played to all of their strengths
yeah i currently have veil on my wishlist, i'll be switching to that if i get a perfect rolled exotic, see how it goes
good 4th attribute would be weapon enhancement especially if you want to use her guns. I personally find her damage lacking sometimes until i got concerto but i still believe weapon enhancement or void boost would be good extra attribute if you really wanna grind that out
im thinking weapon attribute, but if youre going for ability damage probably void boost or damage bonus maybe
yea if i remember correctly gwynns talents give more ability damage/utility so i feel the more copies of gwynn you got the more you build ability damage you should build and vice versa

they stated their first two slots are ring of abundance and conversion while farming for valiant veil for their 4th slot. If i had to guess their 3rd is rampaging planet
im running ring of courage, gives the same damage bonus but with 10% damage reduct
only recommend if you’re t6, for overshield build
that’s funny because my friend is experimenting with gwynn and he’s swearing it’s the better option even with no dupes
which would make sense since the only benefits for dupes are 15% increase to healing and maybe a couple more void orbs so i’m curious how good with low to no dupes
what would be the best second perk for the mythic shotgun ? i'm currently running Line formation + Wound counter, Karmic Reward would be better no ?
karmic reward is best but wound counter is a close second
i could see that for sure,
only reason i recommend it is because tier 6 gives you 3 orbs when u kill two or more enemies with abilities
if you spin with 5 orbs you get an instant reset, or even if you spin with 3 orbs your cooldown is almost recovered for spin
more spins = more overshield uptime, but if even lower trees you can have overshield constantly then its definitely still better
So with all that, what would be the best set for Tier 0 ?
yea especially since it buffs both ability and weapon damage and the free DR. Sounds kinda OP if it works on low talents. My friend claims you should have constant uptime but i’m unsure what content he is doing
first two artifacts are always for being tanky, so its always ring of abundance and ring of conversion
try playing with that:

if anyone tells you to run full planet dont listen, binging planet healing is really low and probably bugged at the moment

managed to finish the new expanse, recommended was 67k and i was only 64k, seems like the current artifacts are still really strong even without conversion @wise tide
niceee, i was able to confirm ring of courage is a great third slot for low to no copy gwynns because uptime is really good
Hell yeah! Even when I was against the boss, I was able to survive with only concerto orbs and overshields, so it’s super strong.

Survivability isn’t an issue besides for new end game content. I’ve been running the disabled Ring Of Conversion and I don’t see a difference in survivability in most content. Where I see the most difference is like high level expanse . That’s where I realized how broken Ring Of Conversion was
I do think that Unrelenting Evolution + Ring of courage might be a good combo?
Going to preface that this is for T0 Gwyn
it’s 2% less of a universal damage buff than ring of courage but definitely easier to trigger and more on demand than ring depending on content. So in short it’d be up to personal preference and/or how often you’re getting overshield/orbs because from what i noticed the Overshield does last rather long. I just chose it because i’d rather have the extra 2% and i’m always overhealed. Ring of conversion would have been so nice</3.
unrelenting evolution could be a good option if i’m reading the perk right, gain 15 stacks when you TP and one stack decays at a time every second would be good because her TP is on a 12 second cooldown so uptime could be all the time plus if you save your pulls and try to go for T2 where you get 2 TP’s at a time you could have higher stacks i assume
Ring of courage grants you damage resist to proc Unrelenting and at max stacks for unrelenting at level 1 you take 12% less damage
Yeah I think they’re both good at this point then. I’ll record gameplay of myself in high Expanse Level and Calamity and see if how often I have over shield

Your overshield def has high uptime in raid , especially at boss phases. But yeah for high end content where your power is slightly under or just at the requirement, I want to see how often you actually have overshield
yea i feel like it also comes down to playstyle like an example being if you have no need to burst down any enemies in a short manner (like shinkas) courage would be good, but if you need to burst down enemies quickly or have a shorter window on boss damage courageous would be a good option as well
also with those two examples it’s also a matter of how easily accessible that buff is in each situation

Are you saying that if you need to brurst down a shinka, you’re getting damaged by other enemies and then you lose overshield so that bonus isn’t applying? And that’s why courageous is better?
sorry for being unclear: What I meant was if an impact shinka is around a cluster of enemies you can guarantee a damage buff for 5 seconds by using teleport to get in using the courageous planet artifacts and burst it down within that time limit. With ring of courage it’s not like you can’t burst it down in a time limit, you’d just have to be careful enough not to take too much damage from it or the surrounding enemies that it shreds your overshield and removes the buff from ring of courage

once reset hits imma hit singularity so i can impose it onto my current ring

do you have any copies or exotic weapons?
i’m not positive of super damage when you have no copies but i start the damage phase with ult then burn it as soon as possible. Then with 4 full cadenza stacks on your concerto you’ll swap to your shotgun and magdump. What you could do here is when there are five or more void spirits on the ground you can use death dance to immediately refund your ability, get damage in, and re proc your buffs. then after the mag is empty, swap to concerto and back to the shotgun to re-fill it and transfer your cadenza stacks to it
if damage phase is still going on after your main rotation just hold down fire on the shotgun so you shoot the second you get a shell in

she is not a “tanky” character
she is an overshield monster
my tanky i mean she could take a lot of damage and survive (i’ve seen some builds like this)
yea, one thing i like is how different i’ve seen so many builds for gwynn
some focus in ability damage, some focus on tank, some focus on DPS, she almost feels like a swiss army knife just missing supporting her team

valiant veil has worked wonders for me. that extra damage buff for everything is really nice in terms of bursting all her dps
each have their pro and cons for sure
you can only proc valient veil once every 12 sec

yeah thats a fair point but if you can only proc valient veil once every sec and it has a 5 second window, wouldnt you be able to kinda just spam it to an extent and keep procing it?
because with rampaging always being on, yes your sigs are buffed by 32% but in the time window you dont have them up, you are kinda losing out on that oppurtuinty for dps no?

because the only movement ability is your TP

in my mind what i was thinking is that in the timeframe of when you do not have abilites up, being able to make your shotgun dps go up, or any other of her DPS factors still more potent seems to have a higher chance of having higher overall dps.
like for penetrating shot, wouldnt veil cause that damage to go up? so once you pop your sigs and in that time of not having them, mag dumping your shotgun with penetrating shot is gonna have a crazy amt of dps id assume

I agree, as Valient is a universal buff, the thing with Gywn is that you spin really often, the downtime isn't that high. You collect alot of void orbs that reduce the spin cool down
And the fact that her void explosion is alot of damage too
Yes Penetrating shot increase the bonus of your weapons for that 5 seconds even more

Binging is currently bugged, its not healing the correct % , if it was then id be using it, I think binging is still usable too and it would be BIS IMO if the % works

Rampaging is better for overall content, your uptime on rampaging is nearly 100%...you always deal damage upclose and the buff last for 10 seconds. In a lot of content where you can just pick up orbs you get your spin back very fast
I see value in Valient though because 20% universal fo 5 seconds is basicallya burst buff which is most handy against Shinkas and Issaki damage window
yeah, the other thing is your survivabilty. if you can stay upclose rampaging will always be good but if you cant then i feel like it may fall off a bit
I want to test a 15 second - 30 second damage rotation and seeing what does damage. But I dont have comparable artifacts...all my rampaging artifacts are better than my valient RIP

so my conclusions
Both are good , at the end of the day it doesn't really matter and each have their scenarios where they shine best
Rampaging : Good overall with nearly 100% uptime, 32% damage bonus for your spin + explosion + tp
Valinet : Shines at bursting (Ult and TP to start or TP and unload shotgun into shinka/boss) is overall damage and possibly better than rampage at T2 if you space your teleport out to maximize Valient buff duration
Valient loses out on 12% damage on TP and Teleport
Based on my testing and current build I'm doing (my spin does a base of 20K and TP is 15K)
Spin: 20K Base / 24K Valient /26.6K Rampaging (2.6K loss)
TP: 15K Base / 18K valient/ 19.9K Rampaging (nearly 2K lost
Is losing a nearly permantn 2.6K + 2K signature damage loss worth buffing 20% to your shotgun and ult
I think for me as a poor player, I stick with Binging for now

actually no, both of her abilities count as movement abilities, that’s why i run it
i find the uptime insane because her void dance is a movement ability and i can just spam it with 5+ orbs on the ground

they stated because of the T6 their overshield uptime is high so they run that

100% positive, i heard about it through reddit and was skeptical so i tested it
probably because it doesn’t move you like her TP or ning fei’s kit but if you use the ability in the air you don’t fall at all; that could be the reason it works or is coded as a movement ability
i haven’t heard anything from the dev’s about it being an unintentional interaction and i am constantly checking patch notes to see if they plan to remove it
I just tested and your right, the spin gives me a damage boost

ok A) the scythe swinging your using to proc valient ALSO applied to the orbs that get sent out in the same swing, which is a pretty smooth addition
and if you can reset the scythe swing it also applies to the void dance

1487 is one concerto precision , with valiant and spin it goes up to 1589 (4.7% increase)
With TP to activate Valiant I do 1695 (14% increase)

The numbers look funny to me based on testing , but as of right now Valient somewhat works on her Spin when it shouldn’t…(it’s not giving the % buff like Teleport does)

i just don’t like that i have to shoot 10 times to get full damage bonus
up until this update you could only have like 6 orbs on the ground so if you’re mag dumping your shotty to proc it you risk losing some void orbs and i dont find it worth 10 pistol shots in isaki’s ~20 second damage rotation
this way i can shoot like 6 or so shotty shots, void dance and mag dump again

So testing with concerto, the Valient buff when you teleport is more damage than the spin…
so it doesn’t apply? or just to a lesser degree?

Planets buff is 10 seconds
Shooting anything within range maintains that buff, Issaki takes like 3 seconds to actually open up his weak spot and there’s plenty of time to Super and start attacking again
i’m using all abilities but portal, i use portal at the beginning to proc the damage buff when i ult

wait, could the difference in damage have to do with your artifact attributes? I know that 3/4 roll with damage boost attributes and they increase your weapon damage differently

Found out that spin is able to activate Valiant (which is crazy) If there is another movement based artifact we can test if Spin is coded as movement if it works with something else

If this somehow stays in the game, I think Valiant is pretty good then, cause yeah you can spin a lot in your gameplay loop and it makes the uptime on Valiant buff pretty high too. But the buff on the spin is just weaker

I assume you opted out of overshield stat after testing because the base with abundance is good enough? I have abunch of overshield stat rn but I hit the cap on the shield so quickly
yeah, as long as you run abundance, with set 5, you have instant overshields with 3-4 void stacks

right under acclaim 20 rn and this is what I got. Sadly stuck at 61k power rn. 17.5k weapon and 16.1k artifact. How much more can I realistically gain from artifact by refactoring? I know I need to work on weapon but working on getting good mods for it (got +10 mythics but need exos) . Got a karmic exotic mod with boss dmg which is at +7 which is max for me. Sadly have to wait to get dupes on concerto for that catalyst to get boosted

I just tested Gwynn and Valiant veil a decent amount because I saw your testing the other day and I found out that Gwynn is currently bugged.
With 0 artifacts on or anything that would effect damage explicitly, after you use Void dance Gwynn gets a 5% all damage buff.
This worked with super/weapon/signature ability damage.

Her spin is most likely not coded as a movement ability then. But for whatever reason her Spin gives a small damage buff. The duration might be like 5 seconds or something. I guess this means Rampaging is just as good as Valiant then depending on if you have T2 then

It feels so bad to use rampaging without T5, dont know what Im going to do. Tried the full weapon damage build, but that felt equally bad because of the prominence of her abilities in contributing to her overall damage.
And since the Ring of Conversion nerfs, maintaining consistent overshield is also tough.

Her spin isn’t a movement and doesn’t proc Valiant. She just has a secret artifact in her spin that gives a universal 5% buff 
Right? It directly answered why my spin was giving a smaller damage buff than teleport

In that test, I didn’t wait long enough for the secret 5% damage buff. So when I Teleported to test. It took the 8.75% damage from Valiant + secret spin buff
And made me do 14%
yea i’m starting to think i shouldn’t commit to any one build until someone does numbers or now i have to do in depth testing when i want to try something else
True, I do think that for artifacts (besides refractor) materials come easily and infinitely so investing in Artifacts aren’t the worst thing

I tried courageous plan, but im getting a dps difference of about 6% at tier 5. I think its additive vs. multiplicative? Im leaning towards the impact body shot artifact that one seems multiplicative

Because with concerto the need for manually reloading your shotgun is dropped off significantly + concerto’s damage buff is like 5 seconds long so you’re aiming to shoot out all your bullets before the timer runs out and line formation enables you to do so
Everybody? Are you sure? It seems to be a mix of Conjuction/Line Formation. I’m looking server wide and the top teams in Raid specifically. It depends what content you’re looking at. Dual Loader is nice QoL but it does not out damage Line Formation in a raid boss when you have 15 seconds to hit the boss

The subs for mods are very minuscule. The realized gains from mods are barely noticeable… what’s important is that the mod is exotic and matches perk

sub stat mods can give you like 25% increased damage (dont know if thats additive or multiplicative) its just not relevant ever because of how hard it is to not only get the correct perk + sub stat + type + slot

correct that is what it should buff, prior to the patch i did a damage test (because i was using valiant veil) and it buffs all of her abilities

idk if you’re T1 but one full super is over 1 million damage in 5 seconds giving you more than enough time to mag dump your 4 cadenza stacks and then some. With how long isaki’s current boss phase is you’re missing out on total DPS because you’ll be out of heavy by the time DPS phase is over (unless there is an estela on which they’re doing double your damage)
and at a full phase you’ll actually be doing less DPS than if you had used ult because of reload times. In calamity ops if you’re ulting a champ you might as well continue slashing away at it because again, if you have T1 it’s a million damage, and if you don’t have T1, why are you ulting in the first place if you plan to cancel?

I was also Prepping the cadenza stracks before i started my Rotation
As of now my Rotation is
Ult - Spin - ult attacks until done - swapping to Shotty shooting about 12 shots (line Formation + karmic reward) - Spin - swap to concerto - swap to shotty to Refill mag - 12 shots With shotty - Spin - end
I mean 4.4-4.7mtotal dmg
And 275k-300k DPS

if you have 40% for elite, it will probably do crazy dps numbers on elites in the firing range, giving you a better number on DPS tracker

i have a feeling rank 1 gwynn has 40% extra damage per shot, which is why they are hitting 15k pellets
i rolled DMG bonus vs boss/powerful unfortuantely, so its only in activities ill feel it vs shinkas or boss, rather than vs the servitor in practice range

Every time you do a DPS test in practice range, if you press the reset button and then the history button you can see damage distribution numbers and peak/average dps. Its not entirely accurate as it sometimes doesn't count certain sources of damage (maybe just a bug with Finnala) but it will show you how much damage came from Super/Abilities/Weapons.

So far I've been checking top Gwen players build to figure out how to build mine, but I was wondering if maybe I was missing something which would make it less "optimal" for my current situation.
Started late so I only managed to pull one before they retire the banner, still farming for a Concerto so I run Chushingura/Eternal with Resolute Conjunction (Mythical), Binging and Courageous Planetesimal (Exotic) and Rampaging Planetesimal (Mythical)
Should I keep farming these or maybe replace Conjunction with Abundant Planetesimal? Most of the time this does the job, but I feel like in some more difficult content my abilities take too long to refresh and I pretty much only rely on them to sustain damage.
what would you run if you had more copies?

T2 makes it spammable twice (with proper orbs) so it would make it spammable on either the same champ or 2 diff champs for speed

yea, could be a potentially strong pair with the exotic shotgun, allowing to generate max orbs in like no time

Canceling your super after the 6 Orb Spin + Debuff is pretty smart, I didn’t think of that. Maxed Eternal Retribution probably does out damage your basic super slashes
i believe someone here had some sort of testing and yea something along the lines of weapon enhancement is better than super boost

It took me 180 pulls to get her T2 when that many pulls got most people to T4
which is funny because i wanted T2 for that sole reason lol
I got it to cheese first encounter of the raid, but yea being able to use Valiant Veil has been so nice since the other 4th slot options dont increase all types of damage

of you’re talking about ring of conversion then 100% unrelenting evolution gives DR every-time you TP (the TP give 50% DR for a few seconds)
and with ring of abundance then you can easily go from 1% HP to almost full overshield
i’m currently using this build and it totally works
always recovering from 1 hp to full over shield
and of a lot of damage thanks to the reflection ring
but reading again the thread i noticed that some players are suggesting other combinations if using a t1 gwynn or below
so i’m curious about what could i improve or what can be better for a t1 gwynn

ring of courage genuinely isn’t a bad option as it gives a higher buff than courageous planet and it’s the same general buff so it affects abilities and weapons plus the DR
but ring of reflection may be a little harder to manage because you’ll need full oversheild for the full buff
and it does work

basically because i’m always on over shield
but yeah, i’m looking for suggestions

rampaging planet is her best option for boss damage and as far as i’m aware her best for T1 and T0, i am unaware what would be better than rampaging planet in fourth slot

but abilities still do more, and that stupid artifact that makes your weapons deal more damage when they’re the same element is still garbage even with weapons out damaging super, your abilities are strongest so it’s a DPS loss and a total damage loss
