M5stickC Plus 2 - External Antenna Mod

In this project I will show you how I made my external antenna mod on my stick.

Warning: You NEED to have somewhat soldering skills!

Materials you need:
• Soldering iron (obviously)
• Solder
• Flux (optional, but highly recommended)
• Hot glue gun
• SMA to IPEX coaxial cable
• Cutter knife (for the PCB traces)
• Cable cutting tool or scissors
• Sharp tool to make a hole

1. You will have to disassemble your stick and get the PCB out, but to get the PCB out, you will have to peel of this sticker at the bottom:

2. Once you have your PCB out, remove this if you have it:

3. Once your antenna is exposed you have to cut and separate those two traces using a cutter knife

4. After that, follow these steps:

5. Apply hot glue on the soldering to prevent accidents

========================================

6. Assemble the stick and glue the SMA connector to the stick’s housing, it may look like this if you use hot glue:
