#[SOLVED] created a dedicated server on Nitrado but it's using a save file

Hello ! I created yesterday a dedicated server on Nitrado, and managed to make it work, but somehw, it's not using my latest save, but, I suspect, a save from before the latest patch, from here (picture - not sure, but seems relevant when I see what building and stuff is missing when I log into my game) .

I've used WinSCP to "transfer" the files (thanks to a tutorial on youtube which is from before latest patch, and a few ppl commented since latest patch that it doesn't work anymore) but as it doesn't really explain "why" we do this or that, and more like "do that and it'll work" I have no idea how to solve this by myself sadly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I spent 3 hours yesterday trying to figure out what to do and I have no clue. Especially because I just don't understand the whole workaround, and just did what I'm told to ^^'

ty !

Hi, @stable zinc

In the last patch, we updated our save system. The RocksDB folder is no longer used. The current save system will load saves from the RocksDB_v2_Backups folder. If you want to transfer a world save from the client to Nitrado, you should copy this folder instead of the old one.

hey ! thanks for your answer. Yeh I noticed that, but I trasnfered that, and even deleted (wih a backup copy before) the RocksDB folder. but nitrado seem to no understand my actions and still recreates (?) the folder? I really don't know what to do at this point... Maybe reset the nitrado server to a fresh clean and redo the whole process but I have no idea how... thanks

If you deleted RocksDB on a shut down server, and it was created on server launch, probably something went wrong with Nitrado's automatic backup system. We encountered similar issues when files in RocksDB were created by Nitrado services, interfering with the dedicated server logic. As far as I know, the issues were fixed a week or two ago.

Probably a clean install and copying only the RocksDB_v2_Backup folder into a clean server will help resolve the issues.

This option should create a server from scratch, as far as I understand.

not the RocksDB_v2 folder? or should I copy both ?

You can copy both, but RocksDB_v2 is a runtime folder that will be overwritten from the save stored in the Backup folder upon server launch.

Before doing this, make sure the server is shut down. After that, you should set the World Island ID in Dashboard\Settings\General to the ID of the world you are trying to transfer.

so I had to copy the V2 folder aswell because Nitrado couldn't find the wolrd island Id, but it's finally working !

Thank you so much for your help, your time, and high reactivity !
you guys rock ❤️
