While on this screen press Confirm, and see if the Characters and Worlds that you had are in place (their progress might have been affected due to corruption).

In case they are not, you can try to restore your saves manually.

#

ttempt one. Trying automatic restore one more time (sometimes it works)

In order to recover your saves you need to do the following steps:

1. Disable Steam Cloud saves
    a. Go to steam
    b. Right click on Windrose App
    c. Select Properties
    d. Disable Steam Cloud saves in General Tab

2. Go to your AppData folder, where saves are kept.
    a. Press Win + R
    b. In the appeared window paste this: %localappdata%\R5\Saved\
    c. Press Enter
#

d. Here you would see SaveProfiles folder
e. Just in case make a backup copy of SaveProfiles folder in case something goes wrong (Just Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V the folder so you have a back up copy lying around).

f. Go to Save Profiles folder
g. Go to your Steam folder (folder with random numbers that is unique for everybody)
h. Here you should see three folders: RocksDB, RocksDB_v2, RocksDB_v2_Backups
i. Delete RocksDB_v2 and RocksDB_v2_Backups folders, so you ony have RocksDB left
j. Try launching the game one more time, clicking confirm on error messages and see if the world and characters are back. If they are not, proceed to next attempt.
#

If it didn't help, the try doing this:

#

Attempt two. Manual restoration of a backup
a. Ensure that you Steam cloud saves are turned off
b. Go to Appdata folder where your saves are kept
i. Press Win + R
ii. In the appeared window paste this: %localappdata%\R5\Saved
c. Go to SaveProfiles folder
d. Go to your Steam folder (folder with random numbers that is unique for everybody)
e. Here you should see three folders: RocksDB, RocksDB_v2, RocksDB_v2_Backups
f. Delete RocksDB_v2 and RocksDB_v2_Backups folders, so you only have RocksDB left
g. Go to RocksDB and delete everything inside of this folder
h. Open another Windows Explorer window
i. Press Win + R
j. Paste this: %localappdata%\R5\Saved\SaveProfiles
k. Here you should see 2 folders one is with random nuber, the second one is the same but with a _Backups suffix
l. Open the backups folder
m. Inside this folder you will see all backups that were created during your previous sessions
n. Backup folders are named after days when they were created
o. Try selecting one (it is recommended to start with not the latest day, but the day before)
p. Open the backupfolder
q. Inside you will see a folder (0.10.0) and AccountDescription.json
r. Copy both the folder and the file to RockDB folder that you have prepared in step g.
s. Launch the game see if this backup worked
t. If it didn';t try restoring a backup from earlier dates (important, the game automatically creates folders RocksDB_v2 and RocksDB_v2_backups on every lunch, so while you look for the latest working backup, you always need to repeat step F, before everything else, otherwise the backup files that yo ucopy would not apply)

does anyone know if making the ServerDescription.json read only so that it won't overwrite changes made keeping it from creating a new world seed instead of using the assigned world seed from an older world seed save?

#

can you see it there?

#

I figured out the fix, had to copy the world seed save into the RocksDB_v2, delete RocksDB_v2_Backups and rename RocksDB_v2 into RocksDB and restart the server then everything fixes itself

#

I tested this on three different old world save seed files and it works every single time.

#

so in short I copied from Default\RocksDB\Worlds and placed into Default\RocksDB_v2\Worlds; Deleted the RocksDB_v2_Backups. Deleted \Default\RocksDB\Worlds (now empty folder) and renamed Default\RocksDB_v2 into \Default\RocksDB and started the server and server fixed the issue with the old world save seed
