So the drowns can take 20+ slashes with a 500+ weapon, but I get insta-death when they throw a rock at me? I have a ship full of sailors who can board any pirate ship, but boarding a ship full of drowns is a no, AND I have to run it solo? A random pirate sergeant at a camp in the hills can 1-shot me with his pistol, but my blunderbuss needs to hit him 6 times in the head to deal 1/2 damage? 6 pirates at a camp can take 10+ slashes each, but I get stunned by 1 slash, and the 2nd slash is death? There is some serious balance issues with this game... if this is going to be the norm, than allow the bandages and potions to work instantly vs taking 5 seconds in animation to just start applying or drinking.
#fights are CRAZY unbalanced

I couldnt agree more way unbalanced.
if you find the combat difficult you can tweak the difficulty in world settings to your likeness
How about trying to deal with 8 enemy ships vs just you? That’s way unbalanced and unfair!
I highly recommend reducing enemy damage until you find that sweet spot. After I did this everything felt much more fair.
For the "Normal" experience, it's totally NOT normal. I had 35 shots available for my blunderbuss, and put all of them into the heads of 2 sailors on a Maria Mission boat... they didn't die, they had a small sliver of life left. I jumped on board to finish them off, and each of them took 1 swing at me, and I died -_- I'm a LVL 7 with everything maxed to current available capacity, and still everything and anything can kill me in 2 strikes. It's ridiculous.
Upgrade your equipment, adjust your progression and talents to support your chosen weapons, upgrade your clothing. Learn the moves of your enemies, practice your moves. I did this and now I do 3K shots with ranged, and 2K+ hits with my melee. I can take many hits from enemies and can't remember the last time I died.
In other words, Git Gud...
The best advice can be hard to swallow

In other words, Get Bent... my post has nothing to do with me or anyone being GOOD or bad, and everything to do with game balance. The fact that I died isn't the problem. It's that 15 gun shots to an enemy's head should do more damage than a single swipe from a sword does to my body. If you're in guard and get hit, you should lose a little stamina, not health. If you perform a "Perfect" block, you shouldn't lose anything, otherwise it's not perfect. Dying is part of the game, but make it make sense.
the unbalance is causing me not to want to continue to play. I've looked for mods to help with this issue or at least to stop my loot from going to a grave where I have to retrieve it and die several times in the process. My dedicated server is set to easy and yet, nothing is easy to me in this game. Sir Richard is a brute.
No, not 'get bent'. Learn this game and the way this game works, don't just say it is unbalanced because it doesn't work how other games work.
You know there are sliders in settings to adjust the very thing you complain about, right?
100% of my problems with this same issue was upgrading my gear and i went right back to carving up enemies again.
Personally, it could be a bit easier at the very start, but the answer is to get gear and upgrade it.
should be a bit easier in the beginning yes. feel like im dependent on my friends that im playing with to join me for all my quests. and we die a lot.
