Hello Scallywags! I've set up a dedicated server that I'm hosting myself and I have had friends successfully connect using the direct IP method.

My question is around the invite code for a self-hosted dedicated server. Am I able to use that instead of the IP? I have tried changing the setting for 'UseDirectConnection' to FALSE, and when trying the invite code, it just pushed the person back to the title screen.

I have found mixed responses online, so wanted to come here to see if anyone has set up their own server and is successfully using the invite code rather than direct IP?

Yes i set up a dedicated service with two friends and we used the invite code to get in

That's good! to confirm, you did that on your on server, not through something like Nitrado or gPortal, right? Do you know if you had to do anything specific to get that to work, or that is just how you initially started connection?

Oh sorry I miss read the self hosted part of the message, I am using Nitrado for my own dedicated server

I self-host a dedicated server and my friends just connect via the invite code (which I also manually changed) - never made any connection changes, it just worked.

It will depend on your network, if you're on a CGNAT or some other weird network like a school network, it may not work
