I cannot get my old world to load into the updated dedicated server i am hosting. It worked fine after the last update.

Please help

After todays update i am also unable to force the server to load the old save from the old folder RocksDB. It just creates a new save with different WorldIslandId in RocksDB_v2 and deletes everything from the old RocksDB folder.

the correct placement is RocksDB_v2_Backups

can you check that your world is palced there and that serverdescription is correct?

Hi, I have the same issue

My save game from before I re-install server via steam cmd is world id is
3B73D0F1C65F42B457B61A793162BF8C

but after I change .json file and start the server, it always change world id to new one and create a new folder in v2_backup

just to double chjeck

every time yo ulaucnh the server, it overwrites WorldIslandID and creates two new worlds - is this correct?

It create a new world yes but only one new world, those are two folders because I did it for second time

okay, you need to copy your old save to Rocks DB as before

#

and then launch the game

#

it will convert it to new save format

I have fixed the problem on our side. Check your server logs for:

Save backup finished with error. Error 'Cannot create directory ............

ive had some problems with directory permissions.

It solved!! Thank you so much!!!
Just copy back-up RocksDB folder to a new dedicated server folder at path SaveProfiles\Default then server ID not keep re create

I'm having similiar problem, i'm running a self hosted dedicated server with docker, but now when i start the server it gets into a loop on this error:

# sweet ferry hello, try disabling mods and see if it helps

Already tried both ways, gives me the same error, also tried now to move the all folder and start a fresh docker and got stucked at this ServerDescription.json was not generated after 120s - server may have failed to start, so maybe it was some update on docker itself or the container that runs the dedicated server i guess

Hi,

My fix was copying my dedicated server world into my single player save.

Then load into the world in single player.

#

Then copy the world in your single player save folder from both the rocks DB and the backup Rocks DB back into your dedicated server folder and it worked again and didnt loose any progress

i'm going to try that

didn't work , still get into this loop at this:
