I tried a reinstall (yes, on an SSD) and it's still doing this.
Worked fine last night.

I uninstalled the game and added this code in the game startup mode (right-click, go to properties, general, and startup mode (-d3d12)) it solved it here.

Perhaps share what you find confusing and someone can help you.

#

That is from the devs I can not control how they write things. Just a player like you but trying to help the community and the devs.

scoob just leave these kind of things to yourself, its a pattern that just drives people away

Uninstalling a game in Steam never removes files that were created after the game was installed (specifically files that are not present in Steam repo), so reinstalling the game won't fix anything related to saved files.

The only thing that fixes your initial issue is to remove the corrupted save from %LOCALAPPDATA%\R5\Saved\SaveProfiles

If you use Steam Cloud, disable it for the time being and keep a manual backup of your saves.

I keep trying all the different "Fixes" for this same issue but nothing is working. Am I just sol until the devs come out with an update?

regardless. in my hunt for info I've seen that name pop up repeatedly telling off people. really wild to see those responses in the first two weeks of a game release. If it were me, I wouldnt want some player acting like they represent the game and being that rude.

Step 1:
find your save files following the steps in the instructions

Step 2:
copy paste ur save files to another folder so u have a backup

Step 3: go to your game - right click - properties - in the beta section - use the code PublicTest292026

Download the public test

Start game

It will tell you the files are corrupted and offer to delete

Run game and it works great

Pop into singleplayer and run around for 1minute

Pop back out

Then pop back in and make sure it saves

Leave game

Go into folder and open up save profiles

Run game as normal version

While live in menu go into ur files and delete the DB2 files

Exit game

Reopen game

Fixed forever

i was able to use 2-3 backups back to recover my second to last save--- to get to backups go to search bar type %appdata% then at top where it shows folders go back one folder to get to appdata then go into local > R5 > saved > saveprofiles copy and save this folder somewhere and delete the whole folder from appdata, launch game and create a new character and load into a world to generate a new folder> now go to the saveprofiles folder you saved and find the file thats name ends with backups (there should be several try get the one thats contents was edited second to most recently), copy the whole lot from inside one of these backups (the 0.10.0 folder and the account description txt folder) then go to the appdata>local > R5 > saved > saveprofiles go to the folder that has just numbers (your steam id) and then into RocksDB and delete the 0.10.0 folder ,acc desription and steam_autocloud txt file from inside and paste the backup one in, you can try launch if it doesnt load go back repeat steps with 1 more backup file back (to find out what file is mopst recent you can right click and see when was edited last, the most recent one will be corrupt but 2-3 back should work), continue untill loads (you will lose few hrs of progress but better than nothing)
