Please share your game logs, game saves, crash dumps, and DxDiag. These are essential for diagnosing and fixing bugs.
HOW TO FIND LOGS
Game logs are located here:
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\R5\Saved\Logs
Server logs are located here:
R5\Builds\WindowsServer\R5\Saved\Logs
To get there, open Steam, find Windrose in your library, right-click it, then go to Manage → Browse local files. From there, archive the files in the Logs folder and share them with us.
Please name your logs in a way that describes the problem, for example: Crashedwhile_fighting_Dodo.log
HOW TO FIND SAVES
Your saves are located here:
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\R5\Saved\SaveProfiles
Please close the game before archiving your saves!
If you are playing on a dedicated server:
• Stop both the client and the dedicated server.
• Find and archive your server logs and world save.
Dedicated server logs are located here:
R5\Saved\Logs
Dedicated server saves are located here:
R5\Saved\SaveProfiles
To get there, open Steam, find Windrose Dedicated Server in your library, right-click it, then go to Manage → Browse local files (or go to the folder where your Windrose Dedicated Server is stored).
Please close the dedicated server before archiving your saves.

Game client dumps (if play offline)
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Local\R5\Saved\Crashes

HOW TO FIND DXDIAG
Please also include your DxDiag report. This is your PC specifications in .txt format:
• Press Win + R.
• Type dxdiag and press Enter.
• When the tool opens, click Save All Information.
• Save the .txt file and attach it to your report.
Any additional screenshots and/or videos are HIGHLY appreciated!
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game. It didn't help. Same error message.
Here is the first crashdump file. I have a new copy for each time I started to launch the game, dozens now. But I suppose they are all the same?
this is the accurate error
ERROR_CODE: (NTSTATUS) 0xc0000006 - The instruction at "0x%p" referenced memory at "0x%p". The required data was not transferred into memory because of an I/O error at "0x%x".
I hope this helps the devs 😄
the first thing you could try is to repair your hard drive
- Open Windows Explorer (by pressing the Win + E keys);
- Click on the affected drive and select "Properties";
- Under the "Tools" tab, locate "Error checking." Click "Check now" to begin checking for bad sectors.
when this should not work try it via the command console of windows
- Press the "Windows" key and type "cmd" to open the menu; right-click on "Command Prompt" and select the option "Run as administrator."
- Click "Yes" if a window appears asking for permission to launch the Command Prompt as an administrator.
- In the new Command Prompt window, type: chkdsk E: /f /r /x (replace "E" with the drive letter of the faulty device).
Good Luck
and dont worry you dont need replace your hard drive its ONLY 1 segment of it not working correctly and has nothing to do with the game becouse this could happen with all games
Thanks! But does this apply even if I reinstalled the game? I imagine it would be installed on different segments, if one is corrupt?
that i cant answer im not a hight tech nerd i just have my programms to read out dumb files and search for a clue 😛
Windows didnt find any corrupt files in the disc search
did you got this window? if yes check both markers and start maybe only the first one is marked automatically
This is the latest chrashdump, from my launch attempt 1 minute ago
its the same error
I don't get that window. I get options to search/repair or defrag. I picked search/repair.
so you right click on the hard drive in the windoes explore go to properties->tools ?
this should be right
if it doenst find anything try it via command console of windows
Via the Command Prompt (CMD – more thorough): Search for "cmd," right-click -> Run as administrator.
Enter the command chkdsk [drive letter]: /f /r (e.g., chkdsk C: /f /r). Note: If checking the system drive (C:), you must restart your PC to allow the scan to run.

This actually helped. Thanks! I didn't even lose my saved characters.
Had that issue every 1 minute. 4080 super, ryzen 7 5800x 16 gig ram, I fixed it mostly* by setting post processing setting from high, to LOW. Everything else on high.
But new update gave me a bs out of memory error crash which happened 3 times, plus a new red error pop up for nvivida which bugged out the app which I had to reinstall nivida.
hello if anyone can help me im getting fatal error doesnt matter what i play solo or online
GPU Crashed or D3D Device Removed. its what is saying i have looked for the issue i have done everything i have found online and still crashes
problem solved!!!! i just turn off cloud saves and game working... i only lose my save, but thats not problem for me...
I didn't even come in to the game lobby, it chrashed right upon launch. But if you look above, you can see what helped me solve it. Might be a different problem for someone else though.
I tried it but it didnt work im gonna try the cloud saves to see if that helps
i tried it it didnt work
