Game hangs on loading screen when trying to load into server

As mentioned in the title my game hangs in the loading screen when I attempt to load into a server this is a problem because ive plus just shy of 200 hours of building and crafting into the server and do not want to start over is there a work around. Steam also gives me a ln error that the game hung for too long? What does that even mean
