Ill start off by saying I LOVE PLAYING THIS GAME......when i actually get to play it. friends and i even got a dedicated server from sponsored supplier, Nitrado. when i get into the game I will dive in for hours upon hours. amazing exploration, base building, and sea battles. really just some small bugs fixes and big improvements to the combat system and it would just about be perfect. so i thought.... i always enjoy my time playing when we are winning, or even have some laughs with buddies when i die sometimes lol.

2 nights ago after playing for hours i got the UE5 fatal error crashed walking into my camp after farming wood. then yesterday, i had the same fatal crash on the server loading screen 4 times before it let me in finally. once in, i played for another 8hrs or so. then today after work i sit down to login and play, because i have been thinking about it all day. and yet again. i am not to 8 attempts of opening the game, finding our server, putting in password, and after 2-3 mins of the loading screen, MY GAME CHRASHES/SHUTS DOWN!!!!!???? i have restarted my PC, checked NVIDIA driver updates, checked whole system for updates, validated files, restarted apps and whole PC, checked windows for updates and everything is up to date on my side (even the games update on steam over the last 12 hrs.) and now i cant even get into the server while my friends on discord are in waiting on me!!! and today it doesnt even pop up an error message, just shuts down back to steam/desktop.

i have a fairly decent PC that should have no issues.
R9 7950X CPU, 64GB RAM, WD Black 4TB SSD, 1200 Plat EVGA PSU, NZXT Kraken 360 AIO, and ASUS ROG RTX 4090 GPU. all on Gfiber 3GB internet (3up and 3down).

I have checked the Windrose Q&A and none of the solutions have fixed the issue after checking and following all the steps. How do i fix this or are you guys fixing it on your end. I have ben watching and it appears multiple people are having this issue, so i know im not the only one.

Again, I LOVE THIS GAME but i cant love something that is this much trouble just to get into and everyday is a gamble if ill even be able to get in and play with or without my friends. e4ventually after enough of this issue, and ill sadly have to step away to a game i can play, not forever, but until this issue gets resolved. i dont want to sit down at my PC excited to play this game over all others, only to every first daily start up play, have to gamble like a scratch-off or slot machine if it will even let me play. i need this fixed because if this is what i have to deal with daily, im going have to step away, no matter how much i dont really want to.

im going to give it a few more tries today, but if i reach a magic number of like 10 attempts or 15 even. ill probably just jump of the plank myself, and go to play something else 🙁 . please help me be able to open stream, click "Play", log into our server, and just enjoy the pleasure of this game you guys have done a really good job with. PLEASE!

so i did some extra trouble shooting. my character can get into the game if its my personal one, online and offline. however. on joining my buddies dedicated Nitrado server and it crashing after minutes of the loading screen after a few minutes. thought i had some progress when it didnt fully crash game but set me back to main menu. but then this last time, it crashed completely out again. that was attempt 12 today, about to try 13, 14, and 15. if it doesnt work by then. you all might need to rollback the last update or something. My wife i gifted the game that plays with us is on the same internet with a not as high tier machine, is about to try and get on.... going to test if its both of us or if im just the unlucky one not able to play this game anymore.

welp, her first attempt led to the same crash. its 2026, so i am surely hoping after playing all night last night, the new update didnt lead us to have to open up some network ports or something stupid like its an xbox trying to get an open NAT type..... and as i type this my game just crashed again. after 2 file integrity validation tests. HOW DO WE PLAY for hours yesterday and now cant even log into our dedicated server today???!!!!!!

NOPE! we even reset our interent and same result. i have attempted to log into our dedicated server 15-16 times today while my friends are in that server waiting. and i am batting at a 0% success rate. can you guys roll back your last night update? or make a hotfix. going to uninstall/install as one last test but if not ...im done even trying today!!! im to thrilled with my Windrose crashing every single time i try to jump in our server that is only 2/10. this game has been me and the wifes date night this past week. guess now we have to go back to Gray Zone until this gets fixed. we will maybe try again tomorrow. if still no success we will check back periodically to see if theres a fix. if no fix we will sadly just uninstall and maybe reinstall later

have you tried a new character? There seems like an issue with your current characters state.

I FINALLY GOT IN ON ATTEMPT 18 OR 19!!!! i just really ont want to quit on this game, holy frick! but now that i can play a bit i need to fix my wifes. then we will have to see what tomorrow brings and if we have this problem 3 days in a row

it could be an inventory issue, have you tried banking your characters inventory into an offline stash on your server and loading in?

i havent tried a new Char becasue this is the one i use. and ever since we gott he didecated server i have nt been to my offline or online personal one since... except today just to see if it would load in. but then i immidiately logged out to try the Nitrado server again

just wonky. and frustrating. after tough days at work. this is me and the Mrs happy time playing this game together lately. so when it has issues like this, we dont mind a few issues like once or twice crashing loading in, but almost 20 is rediculous

on your wifes characters save, try loading a fresh character first, then load in on her main account - remove stashes from boats/inventory and boat items - place in offline stash and try again, if all else fails, try verifying files and removing your shader chache

she just uninstalled and reinstalled. but after i just finally got in...the server reset and kicked everyone out ....fml

if this is a common issue, are they working on a fix at the moment and this is only temporary?

server resets are typical every 6 or so hours for stability issues, im not sure if its a common issue. Im just giving you advice on potential fixes, just a random citizen who stumbled upon your post.
