In Demo I could start an attack and then use block mid that attack animation to block incoming attack instead of doing my own. Same worked for dodge.
In EA the only moment when I can interrupt my own attack with other actions is during the very start of it, somewhat before it really starts. At the same time I saw people claiming that interruption of their own attacks works for them in EA version too. Looks like either me or them are affected by unintended behavior of animations.

Thanks for the report. There were indeed changes in combat between demo and EA (related to animation cancelling), as far as I know it is working as intended right now. If you think something is not right - record a short video that shows the problem. Things like animation timings are rather hard to judge from text description.
Is animation cancelling should be doable at least? So I would know if I have it wrong or as intended.
Its usually very limited, at the start and at the end.
