my character wont load just crashes after 40 hrs. i can make a new character and works good.

Thanks for the report! This issue is caused in most cases either by playing with mods or by Steam Cloud corrupting the saves during sync. We're still working on a fix, but for now we implemented an auto backup feature to help to avoid losing progress.

HOW TO RESTORE BACKUP

Disable Steam Cloud Saves for Windrose.

Go to:
• C:\Users%username%\AppData\Local\R5\Saved\SaveProfiles%your_Steam_ID%_Backups
• Select the latest backup (or any preferred one). Backups are named by date and time.
• Copy all contents from this folder (it should contain one folder + AccountDescription.json).
• Navigate to:
C:\Users%username%\AppData\Local\R5\Saved\SaveProfiles{your_Steam_ID}\RocksDB
• Paste the copied files there (replace existing files if prompted).

says working on this but nothing loads up

Since he mentioned save corruption due to mods there is a save repair tool available on the nexus but if your base is heavily modded chances are this will delete items and structures that are not part of the vanilla game but it should make it playable again. Though if it is a steam cloud issue than chances are the save file is either completely garbled or a 0KB file which cant really be fixed without a clean backup

is not a default environment variable you need to manually type your steam ID here without the % signs
