Items not discovering when picked up

Hi all, wondered if anyone has had or knows a fix for things not discovering? I mined some of the new metal in the swamp but its not popping on the descoveries page. I've beaten the 2nd boss already, tried changing worlds that someone else advised might resolve it but still not working. Any help would be appreciated.

try smelting it, it's the metal not the ore

he can't smelt it because the resource isn't discovered so there's no recepies that involve those resources, i have same issue
