When loading in I see an amazing map of the Caribbean with Windrose Map Icons on it and it made me wonder if in the future if we can have the option to have that map as a playable version when creating the world vs selecting seed generated islands (Much like Conan exiles give you the otion to pick between two worlds) Or is it just for artistic purposes and sticking with the seeded islands?

Windrose isn't a pirate game, apparently, but rather a "Call of Cthulhu" set on imaginary islands. It's a bit ridiculous, actually, to see Teach, a historical figure, and Tortuga in this game. Especially since, in Black Beard's time, Nassau was the pirate capital; Tortuga was a century earlier. Anyway, no French, English, Spanish, or Dutch characters and factions. Just dead people... as if all these characters had vanished into the Bermuda Triangle. So, I don't think we can expect a true pirate game with real places, which detracts from the immersion, but doesn't stop Windrose from being quite enjoyable.
It's just a shame that video game developers feel compelled to make Walt Disney-style stories when the history of piracy is rich enough to draw all sorts of scenarios without adding fantasy elements.
Because most players arent interested in historical reenacting. Mystery, legends, and exploration are a pretty big appeal of pirate games.
Other games have focused on historical settings and work, or have worked, very well. There's nothing stopping you from adding a few touches of fantasy (voodoo, etc.) for those who prefer that.
But as I said in my message, that doesn't stop me from enjoying Windrose. 😉
I agree. Other games have done that, and nothing wrong with that, but the majority of people enjoy the fantasy of pirates, not the true history. Not to say it's not fun, but that developers tend to add fantasy because that's what people generally enjoy.
