First of all, I'm clearly in a bonfire range.

Second, everything in the decoration category should go ahead and let you place it even if it would only provide comfort within bonfire.

The current bonfire range is extremely limiting, which is mitigated a little by being able to build almost everything anywhere. But it's deflating to build something and not be able to then add decent lighting or decorations.

Still, the bonfire has a limited range and may not reach all areas of the base. Need an option to expand the range of the bonfire.

You should see white lines in concentric circles and crosses on the ground and floors and walls that mark the area within reach of the campfire.

I don't see any white markers that stain the floors and walls with obvious white lines from the bonfire, so I think you're not within the bonfire range, do your workbench upgrades work there or no, also your comfort is ticking down, not constantly full.

This is part of the issue though. What's ticking down is the 35 comfort from the bonfire range that's 20ft away. The bonfire range I'm actually in is another bonfire we had to place to be able to do decorations. You see where it says "comfort 1"? That's the nearby bonfire (comfort 1 doesn't give 40+ minutes) that's right outside this structure.

Agreed, let me decorate anything anywhere, I like my map feeling real and not being able to place decorations outside the circle is frustrating

The workaround is to just place a bonfire, decorate, and then delete the bonfire. The decorations will stay put even if the bonfire is gone.

Unfortunately sometimes leads to the issue that started this thread: Overlapping or "close" bonfires will sometimes just bug out and not think you're within any at all.

You also need to turn off background music, because if you're in the venn diagram between two bonfires, you'll get "overlapping" base music tracks and they'll be out of sync.

I think bonfire range is alright, but should be upgradable somehow. I've hit a funny issue on a buddies server where I didn't realize I was building JUST at an edge and can't do 100% of what I want to. It's a fairly big build, and we don't want to overcrowd, so I'm stuck not being able to place a LOT of the things I would want to, and am currently figuring out how to salvage current work put in.

if you dont want to crowd near the host camp, why dont go a little away and place another bonefire? The game allow you to place multiple. The thing is the bells, as i didnt play multiplayer idk if the limit is personal or shared

I wish you could place decorations outside of bonfire range. The warning of "it won't benefit" whateer still applies but let me still decorate damn it hahah

Mostly convenience of not needing to split item stash. We played a lot of Valheim, so we usually had nice themed areas, shared resources given that people try to replenish as they could. This build is also massive, and since I spent a VERY long time reworking it only to start placing decorations and realize I physically can't because the game thinks I care where I place the decorations? Yeah, I want the limitation of placement gone, I think a slightly larger bubble bonfire would be huge. I also get that we can move the bonfire so that I can finish my house and then move it back, but there's several encampments that border that are rather active, it's not straightforward
