#Inf Loading Screen 2.0

Tried everything in the first report on this and watched several videos (12+ solutions), without it solved anything.
All I get is inf loading screen or a WR screen with a Quit button bottom left.
I can delete all saves and make a new pirate, BUT anything done from there dosnt get my old saves or pirates back.
Tried to delete all worlds and players from the 0.10.0 backup folder and paste it to the original 0.10.0 location.

  • Checked files
  • Closed firewall, cloud services
  • Changed Steam settings as recommended in the videos (About 5 settings)
  • Updated gfx driver
  • Opened Steam as admin
  • Several other fixes

So this problem isn't resolved and we are still many that cant access our saves.

Thanks for the report! This issue is caused in most cases either by playing with mods or by Steam Cloud corrupting the saves during sync. We're still working on a fix, but for now we implemented an auto backup feature to help to avoid losing progress.

HOW TO RESTORE BACKUP
Go to:
• C:\Users\ %username%\AppData\Local\R5\Saved\SaveProfiles%your_Steam_ID%_Backups
• Select the latest backup (or any preferred one). Backups are named by date and time.
• Copy all contents from this folder (it should contain one folder + AccountDescription.json).
• Navigate to:
C:\Users\ %username%\AppData\Local\R5\Saved\SaveProfiles{your_Steam_ID}\RocksDB
• Paste the copied files there (replace existing files if prompted).

I tried that and it didnt work.
When i do that it still fails.

Then I tried only to copy one world after I deleted all the files in the and made a fresh pirate, when the initial ship totural is done and I’m ready to enter the game, it fails and I’m back at the start where I can chose between pirates.

If I only copy a pirate from the backup I’m stuck in infinite loading screen again.

I tried with both my worlds and several pirates. With a fresh set of files every time.

And I did it all again but this time I replaced the AccountDescription.json too.
Still not working.

My friend is having the exact same issue, tried every fix he can find from official and unoffical sources and no change. Its preventing our group from playing together as we dont want to progress without him

New and only pirate.

World 1:

  • is from the backup. Fails and I'm back to the menu where I can switch between or create a new pirate.

World 2:

  • is a new game I created with the new pirate, did the tutorial and build a few basic items.
    I can play that world.

Thanks for the update. Can you also send an archive of your logs folder?
And also can you send your Save from before you've deleted the corrupted character?

This is the earliest logs I can give you.
I play on my laptop now and I can't access my PC.
I have played World of Warships, Valheim, Enshrouded and other games on both computers for years.
The saves I sent you is the first I could find.
They should be from 22th April when it was synced to the Steam cloud from my old PC.
I installed Windrose via Steam on my laptop a few days ago.
