A friend of ours is hosting a server for us. We have 4 people playing on the server, 3 of us have good ping (I live the furthest away from the server) yet the player closest to the server aside from the host has 300ms+ ping. The ping is stable at 300, but very high.
We have tried just about everything including router resets, mobile data hotspots, validating files and complete game reinstalls

if your freied could establish direct connection for you guys, i think it should be better.
it looks like the person who is having issues can not establish direct connection to the server for some reason (his ISP could be blocking p2p connections... or something else), so his traffic is routed through our backup servers reserved for such cases

I suspected the same initially, but the same results were found when using a hotspot connection on mobile data so I doubt it is a routing issue
