I have a friend who has been playing with me for 70+ hours now without any issues at all. Now today weve been playing, he got off to cook dinner and when he came back the game refuses to load to the main menu. It'll do the initial logos and then get into an infinite loading screen as he tries to load into the MM, he's done a fresh reinstall, also has verified files. We didn't have any issues before today so we're both a little confused.

It's likely because his primary save file got corrupted. The game now creates several backups since the last patch so he'd have to try to roll back or start all over again.
Does he have Steak Cloud enabled ? Is he playing on multiple devices ?

He does have steam cloud enabled, but no only one device.
