Doctor Galen not on map for main questline.

I love this game, really well done. I started playing with a buddy a few days ago. new character, did the tutorial, we played for 10 hours. Next day he isn't on so I start my own world, same character. everything about the game works as intended except doctor Galen hasn't spawned into the world. I have defeated Richards, on my world not on my friends world, and i am unable to progress further due to Doctor Galen being absent from the world. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated, this is a 10/10 game.
