Using an Xbox controller or steam deck, pressing the start button does not bring up the menu (one out of ten or twenty times it works).
Pressing start while in the inventory screen does bring up the character stats so it is not a problem with the button but with the menu function.
I know there is a fix from a modder but it does not show the controls when I switch to it, which means I cannot play if I have not memorized the controls on controller.
