Same issue everyone else is having with the inf loading screen, game was working fine at 3am GMT, came home from work around 5pm, when I came back to play around 6pm im getting the inf loading screen shite, wont lie lads, love the game, but honestly have 0 interest in starting again, would like a fix please or something, before I go refunding it

An automatic save backup is created on game launch (both for client and dedicated server).
• The maximum number of backup files is limited to 30.
• Only saves from the current version are backed up.
• Backups are stored in the folder:
SaveProfiles/{steamid}_Backups
• When the file limit is exceeded, older backups are deleted (the 31st backup replaces the oldest one).

HOW TO RESTORE BACKUP
Go to:
• C:\Users%username%\AppData\Local\R5\Saved\SaveProfiles%your_Steam_ID%_Backups
• Select the latest backup (or any preferred one). Backups are named by date and time.
• Copy all contents from this folder (it should contain one folder + AccountDescription.json).
• Navigate to:
C:\Users%username%\AppData\Local\R5\Saved\SaveProfiles{your_Steam_ID}\RocksDB
• Paste the copied files there (replace existing files if prompted).

To try to save progress, we have only two solutions that aren't guaranteed, but helped in some cases.
Solution 1

  1. Close the game, turn off steam cloud saves in game setting on the games page in your steam library.
  2. Go to
    C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Local\R5\Saved Make a backup of this folder just in case, then delete it.
  3. Launch the game - it should ask you to create the new character. Do it.
  4. Close the game and enable steam cloud saves back.
  5. When Steam finds a conflict in save files, choose the Steam Cloud version.

Soltion 2

  1. Disable steam cloud saves
  2. Go to %Localappdata%\Local\R5\Saved\SaveProfiles(profile-id-numbers)\RocksDB\0.10.0\Accounts(account-id-numbers)\CURRENT
  3. Open with any text editor (notepad), it will contain text like MANIFEST-000005
  4. In same folder look for file called MANIFEST-XXXXXX
  5. If file name is not the same as from CURRENT step 3 - rename it to match step 3.

People report this solutions working for them, but we can't be sure they'll help you.

same. had a level 15 and min/maxed endgame.
tried the restoration steps . and still stuck on loading...
second time its happend. lost a level 9 before.

unfortunately the only solution i found to get the game running again is to delete the savedprofiles/rocksDB folder and let it repopulate.

my experience was all my characters got deleted permanently. game functions. but starting from scratch is a no go. especially twice

first one was only a day in. but this level 15 been smooth for 4 days.

oddly . i was on the same machine for all 4 days of the smooth sailing.
then i logged into steam on another machine today.
DID NOT play windrose.
but when i went back to my original machine the inf loading hit again

Glad it got solved! Did backup help or Steam Cloud managed to resync correctly?

I have the same issue however I've tried the fixes listed and I have no files for my save data in the R5 folder I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game and all files multiple times and nothing has changed

i have this same issue i can only play solo and not with my friends 🙁

then move the save file section for your old character into the new save

honestly i think i F things up already so now i cant even find my main charc anymore because everything says todday date and time i am so lost

if you did you can restore them and it will have your old char

Didn’t work for me either . Need older save

None of this works for me either. Im about to give up on this.
The longest I have come with this is an empty WR screen where I can quit.

Basically it's like we are blocked from playing until they fix this. Is there any plan to do anything about this or?
