#My data is gone. HELP!

Hello. I run a server for my family and we've hit a major snag. About 2 days ago we started getting connection issues, then yesterday it moved to the world resetting each time the server would start. Each start when we tried to fix the connection issue would cause the WorldIslandID to change. I have the original ID, if that helps. The backups under Default_Backups only seem to go out 24 hours and the last known good would be 2 days ago.

I run the server on a linux system with a k3s stack (another container software like docker) using the indifferent broccoli install. Is there anyway to get my original world data back? Please help!

Good day!

It's hard to tell what could go wrong with the server ran on linux, we don't have a native linux dedicated server (yet!).

but speaking about saves, starting from April 19th the game creates automatic save backups everytim the server starts, so if you had a normal session after April 19th, you should be able to recover your data (something could still be lost though 🙁

#

here's the guide on this, please look for How to restore backup for the dedicated server

unfortunately it only creates a backup when the server starts irght now, if you hvan't restarted your server for 24 hours that would be the most fresh backup you have

I've restarted so many times in the past few days. It seems to just be gone then. Thanks for the info though.

Alright but I don't have a good backup to move in there

#

In the world file, it has my world maybe

Would that stop the making of new worlds?

It shuldn't... but i think if you want to be on the safer side you better delete the SaveProfile folder and start from scratch

#

we are also working on a native linux dedicated server as awith all these docker shenanigens and tons of various options it very difficult to track where the isseus are 🙁

Alright, I'll try that. Thanks.
Docker and k8 installs are common across dedicated servers, i'm honestly surprised it started out as a windows based server.
