I was fighting in a cave I clicked the rope to exit and now I cant load back in. I've tried save restoring from backups, I've removed mods and tried to load in with a new character still nothing. it loads and kicks back to main menu. i can load into new games with both characters. i just created my second ship and bought the plans for the third.
Is there anything i can do besides restarting?

Thanks for the report. An automatic save backup is created on game launch (both for client and dedicated server).
HOW TO RESTORE BACKUP
Go to:
• C:\Users%username%\AppData\Local\R5\Saved\SaveProfiles%your_Steam_ID%_Backups
• Select the latest backup (or any preferred one). Backups are named by date and time.
• Copy all contents from this folder (it should contain one folder + AccountDescription.json).
• Navigate to:
C:\Users%username%\AppData\Local\R5\Saved\SaveProfiles{your_Steam_ID}\RocksDB
• Paste the copied files there (replace existing files if prompted).

I'd try removing all mods and mod managers, reinstalling the game and then restoring the backup. If it doesn't help, then unfortunately we can't do much here. You can try to restore your character or your world separately, but it is very risky and can cause future problems.
