The Bitter Pill - Ship is Gone

I wasn't paying attention to the quest and boarded/sunk the named ship in the quest, I don't recall the name.

However, now that the ship is gone, does that mean I can no longer rescue the captive aboard it?

Disregard - after some time, the boat respawned. To note, you need to kill the crew, then BEFORE boarding your ship, you need to talk to the guy below deck or else it will sink.

I do not know, but it did come back when I later returned.

Is this the undead ship? They kept respawning with me doing a combo of ranged attacks (lots of ammo) then jumping on to slice away then jump back and heal up. I couldn’t even get lower deck without getting swarmed. Gave up on the quest for now. Cost me a ton of ammo and gunpowder just trying to wean things down.
