Generally the server seems pretty good, but when traversing the sea and especially during sea battles there are severe hitches causing the ship to drop drastically in speed for a moment and then suddenly speed back up, or everything seems to 'freeze' for a second.

Well it seems good so far. I had an issue where I got kicked from the server unexpectedly and then got stuck in a Loading screen trying to get back in. I saw in another post that it could be fixed by changing the Invite Code, so I did and that got me back in. I have to head out for now but will test further shortly and will report back.
