I set up a dedicated server in Unraid this weekend and it worked great but since yesterday I get an version mismatch error. I have reinstalled the docker and checked the logs, but it says the server is up to date. I have restarted it several times since yesterday but no change. Is there anything I can do to make it work?

Good day sir, very sorry but we are not familiar with Unraid :(, and it is hard to tell what went wrong there. perhaps you can file a ticket to them?

Thank you for your response. I do not know what went wrong, but reinstalling the docker did not affect the installation folder. I uninstalled the docker and renamed the windrose folder inside appdata to _old and then reinstalled it and at this point it was working. I tried to pull the savefiles from _old, but that made it fail again.. So I know the server is working but the small progress we had seems to be lost 🙂

sorry to hear about that 🙁

On Sunday, April 19th we have released an update that backups your saves automatically every time the game or the server launches, so if you have played a session after Sunday 19th's update you have a save back up.

I got the server back up and running but whenever I try to revert to the old save folder the server crashes. I probably do something wrong. I got the files from this folder. appdata\windrose\R5\Saved\SaveProfiles\Default\RocksDB\0.10.0\Worlds

if yo uare using filezilla it could be carrupting save files, try a differnt FTP client

like Cyberduck

Oh, my savefiles are from before the 19th, that might explain why they dont work. I'm using windows file explorer to manage the files

sorry i htiought Unraid was a server rental service

#

yes, unfortunately the saves backup mechanics only appeared on the 19th ( sorry for that!

No, it is just a Linux NAS system i have in my closet for gameservers for my friends 🙂 Well that explains a lot 🙂 We will start from scratch, and I will try not to break anything 🤣

we are also plannig to release native linux dedicasted server soon, hope it would be more stable

#

hope that backups will cover you! might want to shcdule a restart every night, becuse it only backs up files on launch right now

As of now, I will keep the docker turned off if no one is planning to play, since it idles with two cpu cores pinned at 100%, when no players are connected

Yeah, I saw that it is a known issue. Hope you will find a solution for it soon enough 🙂

Here we go again, after latest update, the docker does not download the server update. I have seen some solutions online but there must be a simpler way to do this.
The error message I get is this.
"error: XDG_RUNTIME_DIR is invalid or not set in the environment.
Update state (0x0) unknown, progress: 0.00 (0 / 0)
Error! App '4129620' state is 0x6 after update job.
Unloading Steam API...OK"

Seems like I had to remove the container once again and restore saveprofiles and serverdescription.json

I think I'm having the same problem, tried to create a new container and restore the save profiles directory and the serverdescription.json but when i try and connect to this new container the game crashes and the server seems to restart

Did you just do what you said above or was there anything else that you did to get the new container working?

For those that are still looking for a fix and come across this thread, another fix was to download the world file from the server, put it into the single player saves location, play on it for a few minutes, and then upload that save back to the server
