System specs:

  • OS: Windows 11 Pro 64-bit
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 9600X
  • GPU: GIGABYTE RTX 5080
  • RAM: 64GB DDR5 (32GB × 2)
  • Storage: NVMe SSD

Description:
Game is permanently stuck on the loading/main menu screen immediately after launch. It never progresses past this point.

Key finding:
The folder %LocalAppData%\Local\R5\Saved does not exist on this system. This indicates the game has never successfully completed its initialization or written any local data.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Launch Windrose via Steam
  2. Game shows loading screen
  3. Loading never completes — no input is possible

Troubleshooting already performed:

  • Full PC and Steam restart
  • Steam file integrity verification (no issues found)
  • MANIFEST file check — Saved folder entirely absent
  • Save data reset attempted — no files found to delete

Expected behavior: Game initializes, creates R5\Saved directory, and loads the main menu
Actual behavior: Loading screen hangs indefinitely; R5\Saved is never generated
