Been playing the last few days with no issues. Today trying to join the server brings up the loading screen then kicks me back to main menu.

This could also like a connectivity issue due to the fact that some ISP are adding our backend services to their black lists.

Also starting from today we have implemented connection via Direct IP. This shuld also help, but I assume G Portal would need some time to support this on their end.

I had the same issue this morning with the update forcing us offline, and when the server restarted, this behavior was seen.
Now, what I realized was that gPortal was pushing their Dedicated Server package as the update happened, so I had to wait 20 min, then force a shutdown and restart in order for the new version to be picked up correctly, after which my server was found and I could log in again.
In the gPortal backend, go to the "Logs" section, and when you restart, check the entries in the log to see what version of the server you are starting up is. Before I shutdown and then started the server, it was on the old version. After restart, I could see it used hte new version of the game, and all was well.
TL;DR = With any hosting, if you get new content pushed, wait 15-20 min and then make sure to STOP server, then restart for any new server files to be read in.

Apparently after multiple restarts the issue has resolved itself. Yay!
