#Ways to get better nitradio performance?

So I know that this is not specifically for nitradio, but I am getting lag when I am sailing on a nitradio server. I have gig speeds and am in the Miami location with 53ms ping. It says that the RAM increase is only for Minecraft. Does anyone have any other ways to improve performance or will this be addressed after the onslaught of other items? (Y'all are doing fantastic, btw love the game and all the dev/mod support!)

One question i did have for @woven thicket and @stable kite are the changes something that everyone can do. I have saw a few people having the same problem I was having and it would be cool if yall could share what was done or have it changed to the default for windrose or something.
