#The game Won't start

Hey! Thanks for the report, it seems to be a problem with Steam cloud corrupting saves.
It can be fixed by disabling steam cloud and removing you "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\X1\R5\Saved\SaveProfiles" folder, but it will make you lose progress.
To try to save progress, we have only two solutions that aren't guaranteed, but helped in some cases.
Solution 1
- Close the game, turn off steam cloud saves in game setting on the games page in your steam library.
- Go to
C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Local\R5\Saved
Make a backup of this folder just in case, then delete it. - Launch the game - it should ask you to create the new character. Do it.
- Close the game and enable steam cloud saves back.
- When Steam finds a conflict in save files, choose the Steam Cloud version.
Soltion 2
- Disable steam cloud saves
- Go to %Localappdata%\Local\R5\Saved\SaveProfiles(profile-id-numbers)\RocksDB\0.10.0\Accounts(account-id-numbers)\CURRENT
- Open with any text editor (notepad), it will contain text like MANIFEST-000005
- In same folder look for file called MANIFEST-XXXXXX
- If file name is not the same as from CURRENT step 3 - rename it to match step 3.
People report this solutions working for them, but we can't be sure they'll help you.
I never play the game
I dont have the folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\X1\R5\Saved\SaveProfiles"
I delted "C:\Users\manue\AppData\Local\R5\Saved\SaveProfiles\76561198889284231", and "C:\Users\manue\AppData\Local\R5\Saved\SaveProfiles" and nothing changes
Not the correct folder, so again:
%LOCALAPPDATA%
You can paste it in your File Explorer like so
Also the folder "%Localappdata%\Local\R5\Saved\SaveProfiles(profile-id-numbers)\RocksDB\0.10.0\Accounts(account-id-numbers)\CURRENT" does not exits
Did it create Logs directory in %LOCALAPPDATA%\R5\Saved\Logs
?
- Go to your game's installation directory, in .\R5\Binaries\Win64
- Launch the Windrose Shipping executable directly.
- Are there any error message popups ?
Not that one, again please pay attention to the file paths :3
Oh, excuse me. Also no messages appears.
Thanks for the report. If the game crashes even before it starts any logging its a PC/hardware related issue.
Update your graphics card driver
Make sure to reset the driver settings to default
Make sure you don't have any "performance increasing" software running.
please solve this problem as many people have it.
I also run it directly and not any messages.
Y:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Windrose\R5\Binaries\Win64
exactly the same problem and there are no logs either
Could you share your dxdiag report ?
Your issue is probably different since :
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) Gold G5420 CPU @ 3.80GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.8GHz
This is below minimum hardware requirements, missing AVX instruction set.
and there are no launch options at all?
Nope
and how do you know what percentages support AVX
Hello, I tried to debug the exe and the debugger says that vpxor is a illegal instruction
can they do something with the update that doesn't have to be AVX?
I know desktop CPUs pretty much by heart at this point.
You can check on ark.intel.com or on TechPowerUp CPU database for your specific CPU and see for yourself, there won't be AVX nor AVX2.
The game was already updated from requiring AVX2 to AVX(1), so who knows.
6600k будет работать
Did you somehow disable AVX on your specific CPU ?
I heard anecdotally that it can be enabled/disabled on some BIOSes ?
vpxOR is an AVX instruction.
6600к
Intel Core i5-6600K ? Yes.
Oh, I didnt touch the bios settings, but maybe the problem. I will check and tell you. Thanks
and judging by the website, the percentage supports Intel(R) Pentium(R) Gold G5420
That's not your CPU.
Instruction Set Extensions
Intel® SSE4.1, Intel® SSE4.2
Intel here lists highest (newest) supported instruction set, it would also list AVX/AVX2 if it would be supported.
Intel "Celeron" as well as Intel "Pentium" brandings are budget/low end CPUs and none of them have AVX (even the new ones), Intel does this to segment market, i.e. "if you want AVX, pay more money"
Honestly even the G5400 doesn't support it as expected. No clue where the TechPowerUp made mistake 😮
This is present for Core i5-6600k on ark.intel.com:
Instruction Set Extensions
Intel® SSE4.1, Intel® SSE4.2, Intel® AVX2
One more check from cpu-world.com
One thing, if you could also share dxdiag, as it shows the BIOS version in there.
Ohm, I can't find any BIOS version matching "H.70", which board is that exactly ?
System Model: MS-7D98
Should mean MSI PRO B760-VC WIFI, is that correct ?
B760 GAMing plus wifi (MS-7D98)
Classic MSI naming them differently on their website.
H7 is potentially outdated so maybe update BIOS ? It should also ensure your CPU runs at actual stock default settings.
This should be the one you have. There are 6 additional BIOS revisions (excluding Beta builds) so yea.
Hello, now its working. I update the BIOS to the newest version. Thanks you.
