i can load the game, though i sit and stare at a black screen fora good 3 minutes, then i can sometimes change graphics settings without a crash, sometimes it crashes my whole computer back to a reboot. when i played the game the very first time i made it to the point in the intro where you are shot, and i havnt been able to resume progress from that point in the game, does anyone have any advice?

ive reinstalled the game, verified the files, check my drivers. i can play any tripa title out their, and most any other game, space engineers, builders, large army builders, things that are intensive on my rig without crashes.

AMD Ryzen 5 5600 6-Core Processor (4.50 GHz)

16 gig ram,

plenty enough storage for the game and updates

a 8gig Amd radeon rx 6600 xt is my graphics driver, pushes most any game at max settings, or a custom high varient.

i was able to actually play the game and almost make it through the beginner island! i decided to start a new map and that was the trick, i played almost through the beginner island and i had to log off, when i went to log back on it crashed my whole computer again.

so i went through the troubleshooting list, doubled my vram, set render resolution to under 50% and when i go to resume my game, the whole computer crashes still.

i can hear my rig throttle up to about 70% or so fan speed when the game initializes, but then it settles down when the main screen appears. this game seems really fun for what little ive been able to play, id really like to shoot a cannon at a ship sometime soon.

At this point all I can advise is trying to play on the lowest graphics settings and waiting for the further game optimization.

And also can you provide your logs, dxdiag result and a save? Maybe we can find exact reason it crashes.

HOW TO FIND LOGS

Game logs are located here:
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\R5\Saved\Logs

Server logs are located here:
R5\Builds\WindowsServer\R5\Saved\Logs

To get there, open Steam, find Windrose in your library, right-click it, then go to Manage → Browse local files. From there, archive the files in the Logs folder and share them with us.

Please name your logs in a way that describes the problem, for example: Crashedwhile_fighting_Dodo.log

Your saves are located here:

Please close the game before archiving your saves!

If you are playing on a dedicated server:
• Stop both the client and the dedicated server.
• Find and archive your server logs and world save.

To get there, open Steam, find Windrose Dedicated Server in your library, right-click it, then go to Manage → Browse local files (or go to the folder where your Windrose Dedicated Server is stored).

• Press Win + R.

• When the tool opens, click Save All Information.
• Save the .txt file and attach it to your report.

Using this is steam launcher got me back on the game then readjust settings, stay off full screen in settings and stick to windowed it’s bugged atm

i know atm the new driver for amd are buggy also. i went back to 25.12.1. more stable driver i had to use ddu in safe mode redo drivers check windows for currupt file and then under vault it. i havent had a issue since
