Steam repeatedly tries to load the game, but it doesn't open. | Windrose | Page 1

Hello Devs, Hello everyone,

I've been trying to start the game for two hours now, but it won't open. A black screen flashes briefly for a second and then disappears. When I monitor Steam, I see that it's constantly trying to open the game by repeatedly launching and restarting it.

The last time I played the game was a day ago, on the morning of April 18th, so less than 24 hours ago.

I would be extremely grateful for your help. I can send you any information you might need. Please let me know if you require anything else.

Thanks for the report. First of all:

Restart Steam and check if you have any updates for the game
Verify your installation through Steam

Are you launching the game from your Steam library?

Yes i restarted Steam and my pc, and verifyed the game data on steam.

I can't understand why it suddenly isn't working. I haven't changed anything; other games start without any problems.

It was the same way back then, but the problem was with the CPU's AVX support, which you guys fixed. I don't think the game is running with AVX2 now.

FYI the game gracefully exits out because it ran outside of the Steam launcher procedure (i.e. was run directly from the Shipping executable).

Could you clear the logs, and boot the game once from the Steam client and then upload a new log ? 🤔

Can you send a screenshot of your Windrose page in Steam Library? And also can you open properties of your desktop shortcut and send the screenshot of the "Web Document" tab in it?

It's normal to have it on an SSD inside the PC, not a network drive.

A few things to try:

provide a video, if possible, of you launching the game till it exits out
ensure there is no permission mismatch between the game exe and Steam (i.e. run as Admin enabled on one of those could be a problem)
ensure the game is not being blocked by any other app or security program

my problem is solved , I had selected "Run as administrator" for the file, which is why it didn't start. This is the first time I've encountered this issue with a game.
