as they join your server you make them give you a char name they are going to use.

then track that ID as they log on via the logs. The ID cant be changed.

even if they change char names or use a new char. it will help you always track whos on your server. so if a random pops in and ruins your world and or steals all your stuff uk who it is at that point.

it stops most people... but theres apprently a few who have discovered new ways to greif server owners.. zero idea how hes doing it but we had someone hack they way into our server zero chance he was given our info by 1 of us... like friends of mine mainly for years... and a few new folks but again not them they also was in world when he joined.. and ruined our world and found a way to banned me the server owner out the server.. I had to do backups from 2 days prior to even let me back into my own server it was so weird...

so thats another issue tho... and now a more legal issue.. bc thats cyber security crimes..

No I prevent those people we run custom constant every 15 minutes VSS/snapshots of world data double synced and backed up externally and locally + custom local API for preventing people to possible join server. I am hosting myself on full dedicated hardware, not nitrado or gportal stuff. 😉
I also use certain management in our Discord as well as a custom Bot, to keep things organized and reviewing stuff so we exactly know who is who. 💯
