Solo offline. Windows 11, Asus Z690 Apex, i9-12900K, RTX-5090, 64GB DDR5 RAM Corsair Platinum, game installed on SSD. Game makes PC reboot without warning or blue screen error, I havent been able to pinpoint what action triggers it. It happens when opening the inventory after a mining session , it happens after staying in build mode for a while and so on. I had the same problem with the Demo. I cap FPS at 60 and playing at Epic settings or Mid is the same result. Temps while gaming are fine. My GPU is undervolted with MSI Afterburner and my CPU runs at stock speeds.
#PC rebooting with EA. Same as with the Demo

Hey! Thanks for the report. First of all, try the solutions from here:
https://playwindrose.com/faq/#faq-crash
They seem to help in a lot of performance related crash cases. Undervolting might be the problem, but something else from the list might help if you want to keep the power this way.
my pc also reboots randomly. i can play for hours, sail, fight, mine a bit. but as soon as i enter build mode and stay in there for too long (~30min) my complete pc reboots. Ryzen 5800x, amd 9070 16gb vram, 32gb ram, archlinux. maybe memory leak ? need to gather some logs etc. i was playing and had a video playing on 2nd display. it sounded like a gpu hang.
Just wanted to report back that after setting the upscaling to 50% and balanced mode instead of quality, I had two long gaming sessions without my PC rebooting. Still playing at Epic settings, frames capped at 60 and no frame generation. Thanks!
i also had to lower my settings to prevent it from randomly rebooting. I was able to play on all maxed settings for several days without issues. After the "Steam Cloud Saves Updates" dropped i encountered several random pc reboots.
I give up. Cant be dealing with this reboots. Is not worth to risk a major hardware failure for this game. I just requested a refund. The issue persisted unfortunately, two more reboots in very short time of gameplay. Hopefully the Developers takes this matter seriously and investigate further instead of just saying is the users fault. I play many other very demanding games on max settings and I don't have overheat issues or reboots.
yeah its better. for me its working now somewhat, its not rebooting the pc anymore. but i get a ue5 gamecrash now instead with lowered settings. seems like a MAJOR game issue to me. to bad i played for 3 days without issues (no refund possible anymore) until the update dropped. thats where the problem started.
I have a suspicion that the game produces very high but also very short extreme power consumption on a modern gpu due to excessive use of ue5 features like nanite, lumen etc. which triggers the OCP of a dual-rail psu. i buy a single-rail psu tomorrow and see if it helps.
