Hi, I’m having a dedicated server startup/crash issue after the latest Windrose update on Nitrado.

The server takes a very long time to start, then crashes while loading the world. From the logs, it looks like the server can open the RocksDB world database, but it fails when loading the island/world record into the data cache.

Relevant log messages:

  • EXTREMELY slow task. Task was finished in 75509 ms
  • Error loading record 'R5BLIsland[EDB597C1CC1B46DC419014D03F743401]'
  • Cannot load world to data cache. IslandId 'EDB597C1CC1B46DC419014D03F743401'
  • Cannot load island 'EDB597C1CC1B46DC419014D03F743401'
  • Cannot init Coop NetServer
  • Incompleted TR5BLPromise was destroyed
  • Condition: 'Result.IsOk'

What happened:

  • The problem started after the update.
  • The server now needs a very long time to boot.
  • It then crashes during world loading.
  • This makes me think the existing save/world may be incompatible or corrupted after the update.

Environment:

  • Host: Nitrado
  • Dedicated server
  • Existing coop world/save
  • Crash happens during startup while loading the world database / island record

Has anyone seen this after the latest update?

Yeah this is a common error that might happen after a game update ( corrupted files )
Did loading a backup help you anyhow?

How long did you wait for the server to start?
Some clients had experience where after 1-2 hours of waiting the server started again

Hi, thanks for checking.

I already waited around 1.5 hours during restart and the server still did not recover properly.

The issue started after the latest update. The server takes a very long time to boot and then crashes while loading the world. From the logs, it seems to fail when loading the island/world data cache.

My Nitrado service ID is: 10711606

If needed, I can also send the relevant log lines here.

The only thing I would recommend is try and load the backup that was made 7 hours ago and see how it fares.

This is an error that is known to us and internally we are already checking it out

I can't really give you an ETA if there will be a fix it's mostly to see if we can stop this from happening in the future

@grim haven @opaque creek @gleaming idol @gleaming idol @potent kelp we still stuck on this problem, while the server is in a never ending restart loop. We would like to get this problem solved. I mean we paid a bunch of Euro for this.

Gerne dürft ihr auch auf Deutsch mit uns kommunizieren, da Euer Hauptsitz ja in Kalsruhe ist, gehe ich einfach mal stark davon aus, dass dies möglich ist 🙂

Please don't do further changes to your server while the server backup restore is in process, so it is not interrupted

#

Do not try restoring database backups, these do not contain your game server data
