#Solo-Offline Can't finish quest Can't board nor damage Weever ship.

The ship named Weever just sits there still in the Water and can't board nor damage it.

I can only jump aboard the ship by myself and get insta killed by the Downed as every single one attacks me at the same time. I've tried hitting it with ship cannons from all sides. Sometimes a damage number will float on it when hit but the HP bar doesn't move. I've tried circling it many times to pull along side it to get the board option like we do with other ships but it never shows up. Unable to progress this mission.

My save file is with me sitting next to it. Attached are all requested files.

Thanks for the report! You actually need to get on the Weevil yourself and explore the ship to find a quest item. Make sure you have appropriate equipment level, food, etc. Its a difficult fight, but its doable, just don't jump directly into the undead swarm.

You need more information on this quest then, up until then you have us disabling ships and then using the boarding action. To throw at us to not attack a ship and not use the boarding option is counter to what the game has us doing to that point.

If you don't want us to just jump onto the ship into the undead swarm, what are you suggesting a person doing this quest should do and how would they know to do that?

You should be able to embark on that ship by pressing E from pretty much any direction. Including the direction that doesn't currently have a swarm of undead.

Unless we are having a missunderstanding, I can jump onto the ship or I can swim up to it and hit E to get on it. However my ship will not give me the board option so my crew goes onto the ship to attack like other ships we have been taught to do. If we are supposed to go on the ship Solo with no crew then a couple things should be addressed with this quest. 1. Some sort of information in the text of the quest to let us know it is boarding solo instead of how we have been doing it up to this point. 2. Insta Killed by a ton of drowned the instant you step foot on the ship is NOT a fun mechanic of any game. We should have a legit chance to do any single movement of combat in my opinion.

If I am supposed to go on board solo please let me know here and I will try again and maybe do a video to show you what happens so you can see for yourself if it is as intended or a real issue. 🙂 Thanks for your attention here and I hope I am not wasting anyones time.

Yes, you're supposed to get on the Weevil however you can (E or jumping from your ship), without initiating a full boarding sequence. We'll look into making instructions more clear in the future.

If you don't want to fight all of them directly you can shoot some of them, or freely retreat to your ship for recovery

There is a finite amount of undead on Weevil and its part of the challenge to figure out how can your build deal with the undead swarm on a ship deck. I think if you are patient enough you should even be able to kill off some of the undead with your ship's cannons (but it might be difficult to aim at them)

Thanks and I hope this didn't waste too much of your time, and maybe it will help the Development with a little extra info in the quest text so I don't feel bad about putting this in. Please go ahead and close this as you see fit. If I see something more out of line (which I doubt now) with this specific item I will put in a new report but I doubt I will need to. Thanks a Bunch and Can't wait for more of this game as time goes on!!

I gave up and just jumped on the ship, grabbed the item and died. I am pretty sure per the user above ther IS a bug where they are spawning infinitely.

I was on my ship and taking potshots at them. fwiw

They spawn indefinetely until you jump on Weevil's deck. After that theiy stop respawning.

So what I ended up doing was shooting them from my ship, BUT don't kill them, just damage them as much as you can. Do that to each one and then when you board the ship no more spawning. Easy kills except the extras down below.

Also a suggestion for any still having issues with just this one quest until they look at it.

Adjust your enemy difficulty to the lowest and do this part of the quest and then return it back to how you want it after.
