My chest randomly got destroyed and not all the loot dropped from it. Lost about 400 silver coins and 21 gold coins, 2 gold bars and some rare pieces of armours. So did I just lose all my stuff randomly?

Thanks for the report! Chests usually don't get randomly destroyed, is there any extra context here? Did you see it happening?
Are you playing offline or in coop?

Co-op on a paid server. Was placing a chest away from camp for personal belongings then I went to dig nearby abit away from the chest then turned back and it just got destroyed only some of my loot popped out.

How close was the chest to your digsite?
Terraforming cause structures to destroy if you remove the foundation beneath them.

Also terraforming is destroying any items that were in the zone of dig/raise/flatten area.
