I've tried restarting, changing the settings to minimum. Ran fine during the demo and all day yesterday. This morning, after the hotfix loading takes (seemingly) much longer. FPS between 29-32, audio is choppy as well.

Hi!

#

We didn't have any graphics related changes in recent update

#

May I ask you to reboot your PC and launch JUST windrose, without launching anything else? And see if issue is still there

#

Also if you experience FPS drops - please give me screenshot of performance tab from task manager (Crtl-Shift-Esc -> tab Performance)

I've tried restarting and reinstalling...now I can't open the game. Tried reinstalling, verifying files, and rebooting.

First time I'm seeing this

#

Give me some time

#

You play solo offline?

neon tusk

Yes

Ok, I need full info then.

Dxdiag.txt and whole saved folder located here %localappdata%\R5\Saved\

jolly oxide
#

As .zip file please

neon tusk
#

Sorry about that

Ok, booting as an Admin. Going to see if that helps.

#

It'll ask to make changes, I click yes, then it goes away for a second and comes back. Verifying the files again

Keep me posted please

Very much a permission issue :3

493 files validated.

#

I get the pop up to allow permissions, I click yes, then Steam tells me it's already running. Checked Task Manager and it's not there. I'm about to uninstall and come back to it later😅

You get this popup because the game or Steam got blocked by your security or other app with admin/kernel-level access.
Smart App Control is not the only thing that does this.

#

It's basically a tell tale sign there of.

I played the demo and for hours yesterday without issue. I don't touch permissions, I'm the only one using this computer

Have you tried setting your upscaler to DLAA? That appears to have fixed the choppyness for me. Kind of, audio still cuts out a bit.

No dice. Based on the steam forums other people having the same issue, with configurations all over the place new and Auld drivers. Someone mentioned it might be something with boot straps, not starting it upright, which might make sense to me because when I ran it as admin, that was what it asked to change when I clicked yes, nothing happened. The window to make changes went away and it acted like it was going to open and then nothing happened and it told me it was already running

#

The dark part I click at the end is Steam saying it’s already running

A shot in the dark, but if you have a lot of torches around the base, it seems to cause my game to be choppy aswell

Appreciate the thought @spiral sleet but I've just got a campfire and a bed at this particular spot next to the first ship you repair

Seems to be some sort of local installation problem

#

First time I'm seeing this one :(

neon tusk
#

So what does that mean for a result? 😢

jolly oxide
#

Probably only some sort of windows reinstall, because it seems like local windows problem :(
