Death Markers won't go away

Death Markers won't go away, even after I pick up my drops. I've tried hitting R3, but nothing happens. Sometimes restarting the game helps, but not that often.

I was able to remove a persistent one last night by right clicking on it a couple times.

I periodically open the map and furiously click on them a few times, just to see if they'll go this time. Currently stuck with 5.
