#Lose Fast Travels when changing servers

My friend joined me on my server with his character because we were at about the same level of progression, and we sailed to some quests together that unlocked places like the smugglers hideout and bretheren camp. Now he no longer has those quests, and when he returns to his server, the fast travels are not unlocked and he has no way of finding those islands short of just sailing in circles and hoping. Is there something we should do?

I'm not quite sure what the issue is, can you give a bit more details?

#

Also, do you happen to use any mods?

Yes. A friend joined my server, and had not yet made the journey to the smugglers hideout, but had the quest unlocked (so there was a quest marker telling him how to get there) We went to the smugglers hideout on my server, he turned in the quest, unlocked the fast travel on my server, and when he went back to his server, the quest marker was no longer there, so he has no idea how to get to the smugglers hideout

Because he completed the quest

#

So since the quest is completed - quest marker is missing

#

Quest progress is character based, not world based

fierce lodge
#

correct, the quest markers also guide you to the world locations on your first visit

ripe cosmos
#

No, quest marker is guiding while you have quest active

fierce lodge
#

The quests correspond to unlockable world locations

#

some of them

#

so without the quests, how does he find those locations

ripe cosmos
#

By sailing

to where?

#

just wander the ocean until he runs into the islands?

ripe cosmos
#

Yes, basically. Or he can create new character and it will have all guidance again

Yeah, I guess thats the issue. Those particular quests just happen to coincide with revealing important locations and if you're on a different world or switch worlds you dont have a way to find them. Perhaps something like a "show completed quests" that lets you see where the marker would have been.

That does present a bit of an issue if you play on multiple servers or both solo and on a server and don't keep separate characters per world. Seems like there ought to be something that could give similar assistance in finding important locations on any world, separate from those main quests.
