I tried moving a server to a new PC following these steps and not I get errors:
Copy the entire world folder. Paste it here:
Windrose Dedicated Server\R5\Saved\SaveProfiles\Default\RocksDB{GameVersion}\Worlds
Open ServerDescription.json. Set WorldIslandId to your copied folder’s exact name.
Save the file and launch the server.

Good day sir, excuse me, can I make sure that I understand the issue correctly.

I have moved your server to a differnt machine and files didn't trasfer correctly and it is not working?

May I ask where you transfered these files from? Another phiscal machine? Or you rented a dedicated server somwhere?

technically it's the same machine. I had an issue and had to restore windows. Before the restore I copied the world from here per the instructions: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Windrose Dedicated Server\R5\Saved\SaveProfiles\Default\RocksDB\0.10.0\Worlds

reinstalled steam after windows was done, went to the same (new) folder and pasted the game world. Edited the json per the instructions

#

I followed the instructions to the "t"

junior mica
#

got it thank you

#

what is the result? you can not see your world in menu? or you can not enter the world for some reason?

native edge
#

the errors that I posted originally

#

the server crashes

junior mica
#

Are you tryting to enter it offline or create a server with it?

native edge
#

I am launching the server as before as per the instrutions the server pops up, runs through the stuff then crashes

#

I pasted the log with the errors

#

as I already said, I have a server that was created, copied it per the instructions and now it will not load

#

it actually looks like there are less files than the new server that was created when the server launched for the first time

#

so even though I copied everything, it wasn't all there... and n ow I have to start over. perfect...

#

very sorry to hear that it didn't work out well for you 🙁

can we please try one thing to see if the worlds is really corrupted or not. can you copy your backup copy of the world t oyour PC which you use to play from?
and copy it to this folder: C:\Users%username%\AppData\Local\R5\Saved\SaveProfiles\SOMENUMBERSHERE\RocksDB\0.10.0\Worlds

After that try launching this world in offline mode just ot see if it can load?

native edge
#

nope, it just logs me out, so it's done. no biggie, it was just 1 day worth.

#

but I did move the whole folder to my server now so I have a dedicated machine with a new world, but I am getting a dll error

#

c++ installed when I first ran the .bat which I expected

junior mica
#

hm, can you please sahre logs from the server machine with that crash> if it has generated any logs ofc?

BUG REPORTING GUIDE

Please share your (1) game logs, (2) saves, and (3) DxDiag — they are essential for diagnosing and fixing bugs.

(1) HOW TO FIND LOGS

Game logs are located here:

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\R5\Saved\Logs

Server logs are located here:

R5\Builds\WindowsServer\R5\Saved\Logs

To get there, open Steam, find Windrose in your library, right-click it, then go to Manage → Browse local files. From there, archive the files in the Logs folder and share them with us.

Please name your logs in a way that describes the problem, for example: Crashedwhile_fighting_Dodo.log

(2) HOW TO FIND SAVES

Your saves are located here:

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\R5\Saved\SaveProfiles
Please close the game before archiving your saves!

If you are playing on a dedicated server:

• Stop both the client and the dedicated server.
• Find and archive your server logs and world save.

Dedicated server logs are located here:

R5\Saved\Logs

Dedicated server saves are located here:

R5\Saved\SaveProfiles

To get there, open Steam, find Windrose Dedicated Server in your library, right-click it, then go to Manage → Browse local files (or go to the folder where your Windrose Dedicated Server is stored).

Please close the dedicated server before archiving your saves.

(3) Please also include your DxDiag report

This is your PC specifications in .txt format:

• Press Win + R.
• Type dxdiag and press Enter.
• When the tool opens, click Save All Information.
• Save the .txt file and attach it to your report.

(4) Any additional screenshots and/or videos are HIGHLY appreciated!

junior mica

Hello @native edge sorry for not getting back for a while, had to get some sleep.

I can not make out from the message right now, did yu manage to fix it? and it works fine fro you now?

native edge
#

the server loads but I get the error for the dll, I have to hit the accept button then it will finish loading

junior mica
#

jsut t oconfirm...
Every time you start the server you get the dll error message but if you click OK it will continue loading and everything works fine for you after that?

native edge
#

that is correct

junior mica
#

this is interesting, thank yo uvery much for bringing this up, i will pass this information to your techincal team. very happy that it works for yo uthough 🙂

native edge
#

It would be nice to get the error fixed. I have to log into my server to clear the error message any time the server shuts down or resets (thankfully that's not often).

#

Windows 10 by the way. Reinstalled the c++ redistributable and direct x, neither fixed it.

junior mica
#

thank yo usir! If I need any additional info i will get back to yo uhere!

Any update on this? This error causes the server to not load automatically when I launch the server. I tried replacing the DirectX 12 runtime file as put out in the FAQ and that did not fix it.
