Can you please launch the game, try to connect, and once it fails, send me your log file.
If th person who is hosting the server for you can share their server log, that would also be amazing. thank you!
Please share your (1) game logs, (2) saves, and (3) DxDiag — they are essential for diagnosing and fixing bugs.
(1) HOW TO FIND LOGS
Game logs are located here:
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\R5\Saved\Logs
Server logs are located here:
R5\Builds\WindowsServer\R5\Saved\Logs
To get there, open Steam, find Windrose in your library, right-click it, then go to Manage → Browse local files. From there, archive the files in the Logs folder and share them with us.
Please name your logs in a way that describes the problem, for example: Crashedwhile_fighting_Dodo.log
(2) HOW TO FIND SAVES
Your saves are located here:
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\R5\Saved\SaveProfiles
Please close the game before archiving your saves!
If you are playing on a dedicated server:
• Stop both the client and the dedicated server.
• Find and archive your server logs and world save.
Dedicated server logs are located here:
R5\Saved\Logs
Dedicated server saves are located here:
R5\Saved\SaveProfiles
To get there, open Steam, find Windrose Dedicated Server in your library, right-click it, then go to Manage → Browse local files (or go to the folder where your Windrose Dedicated Server is stored).
Please close the dedicated server before archiving your saves.
(3) Please also include your DxDiag report
This is your PC specifications in .txt format:
• Press Win + R.
• Type dxdiag and press Enter.
• When the tool opens, click Save All Information.
• Save the .txt file and attach it to your report.
(4) Any additional screenshots and/or videos are HIGHLY appreciated!
And also... if I understand correctly your friend is just hosting a server on his PC? It's not a dedicated server, correct? And he CAN join you if you host a server, but you CAN NOT join his server?
yes. i have 2 of them try host. both of them can join each other only i can't join. when i host, they can join.
if you can get the server log that would also be awesome

But it looks like ooks like your router is blockign the connection.
Can you please confirm taht you tried doing flushdns and restarting your router?
i did restart my router daily. i haven't try flushdns yet.

yes VPN helps in alot of cases... as the problem you are encountering is a mixture or routers \ ISP setups, and VPN bypasses all this.... but it is ofcourse not very ocnfinietn to use it

For anyone having issues connecting and having to connect through a VPN. I went onto my internet providers site (Spectrum) and disabled the security shield. I now am able to connect to the game. (Dedicated Server)
problem right now it's 3 of us using the same ISP. 2 of them can join each other and only me can't. and we not using any dedicated server..
let's see if ports forwarding from the host can help this issue
a.. update: even with port forwarding still not work. i did try join a random person server and it success.
i just can't connect my friend co-op server..
